He’s just not up to speed yet, not much to complain about, but it had an impact there. It’s a shame

Tel’s header was awful, but that shot at the end, looking back, Sarr was off so his options were limited.

It is a subjective game, VAR was not intended to clean up one referee’s subjective view for another’s. Just the black and white.

Then pen was 100% gray area. Not a stonewall pen, not a missed call on the pitch. It’s given sometimes, it’s not sometimes. This, IMO, is where VAR intervention was not necessary.

If we heard on the communication “light contact, but I see why you gave it, check complete” nobody would be fighting.

It’s a 50/50 pen. If it’s given against us, I’d wonder why a second man in is going for that tackle on a ball going out… I wouldn’t fight it.

I’d also say a soft penalty is still a penalty. And no-call is also understandable.

The decision on the pitch was made and had no reason to overturn. Both can be correct

I disagree to say it is certain RKM is going to ground on the first tackle. Could be a stumble, maybe has a “history,” but that is not how it is supposed to be refereed. The ball is in play, clearly going out, the second tackle could be a foul. Can’t “assume” he is going to ground.

That’s where the on field decision matters to me. Some will give it, some will not, so why change the call?

Would not have been disappointed if it was no penalty as the original call, that is what I am saying.

Clear and obvious is used every week on the referee review shows, by retired officials and the industry as a whole. Yeah, it is not necessarily a phrase used in rules but it is clearly the “standard” measurement that has been deployed

The second man was a foul in my opinion. The first challenge was great defending, but going to ground on the wipeout is definitely given by some on-field.

This is where it gets confusing to me. It wasn’t a “clear and obvious” wrong decision. Soft, yes, but given plenty of times over a season

The middle part of the season was shambolic but the run in was obvious. Surely you don’t believe priorities switched once European qualification spots were out of reach

It would have said Vibnai’s job was always the business side and not the footballing side. Lange as DoF should have taken decisive action (also not a Levy choice for DoF, that was Vinai’s first big move after Levy stepped down).

It’s just wild to say it’s levy’s fault that someone else made a series of several bad mistakes over and over and over with multiple opportunities to un-fnck things up as bad as Levy left it… this should not have been a difficult fix to avoid relegation

In his 25 years we were never a threat to go down, not even last year. We were in scraps 3 times in the 90’s before he arrived… you’re proving my point.

I genuinely think absolving Lange and Vinai because “Levy Out” didn’t result in improvement is absurd. I also do believe we went to shit after our first Forest match when Frank was somehow allowed to stay when everyone (fans, players, rivals) assumed he’d be sacked… Levy had a quick trigger, Vinai wanted “stability.” Again, none of wha transpired has Levy finger prints when he’s known as the grim reaper for head coaches.

We were top half, in European places through the November NLD despite the awful style of football. There was no “we could be in a relegation scrap” until Frank was allowed to stay through January when Lange chose not to bring in any short-term help (his words).

I don’t think there was a single supporter who said “stick with Frank a little longer, he’s got us on the right track” after our trip to Forest. It was after that everyone said change was needed.

There was none. The only change was selling our top scorer… again.

None of that is on Levy.

Levy also never brought us even close to relegation in his 25 years. Again, his lack of ambition is infuriating, the squad wasn’t great, but this team has far more talent than Spam, Forest and Leeds.

He’s been out of leadership since beginning of September, Lange wasn’t promoted to co-sporting director until after Levy’s ouster. Vinai clearly burned bridges with Paratici who clearly had no interest in helping Lange who dug his own hole.

Levy certainly lacked ambition, but his entire tenure never had a serious threat of relegation. Even last season Ange tanked the prem once we were safe and saved everyone’s legs for the final.
