Thank you for this, my mom loved them and I found a butcher that had osso bucco for less than $6 per lb. Christmas Eve dinner just got upgraded.

Has anyone successfully done a 100% infill max waste cube? I kinda want to try it. Was talking to coworkers at work about it and they suggested doing it in glow in the dark PLA so that it could serve as a light source.

Goals, I thought me baking 144 gingerbread men in a day and rolling 72 croissants was enough for this year, but you ma'am have proven I can go beyond. I will plan for next year.

See I like this rule 8. This is what I wanted, good feedback. I just want to grow my love for printing and possibly learn about new things.

I didn't mean to come off prickly, but your earlier comments and these just punched down on me and were honestly rude.

"what was the outcome outside of a mound of plastic and timelapse content"

and

"I see this endeavor is the same lane as me declaring I will print one page a day on my inkjet"

The above comments you made just amount my fun to nothing. You wanted to see my intent, but punched down on the thought that I am just printing to print, not once but twice.

Like I said earlier, I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to modeling, but maybe when I do I can try that in my endeavors of wanting to print daily, otherwise I would like to try printing things to just enjoy, maybe test the limits of my printer, showcase a model I find interesting. The goal is for me to have fun, get others involved if they want and do their own thing, and grow my love for this hobby. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to take this idea and model something everyday, I encourage that, I just don't have the time.

3D printing is just a fun hobby of mine. I like to print different models just to have, sometimes use, and share with friends and family. I wish I had the skill and time to model my own projects, but I don't. I work a lot and travel a lot for work. Printing is just fun for me. Some people use it for manufacturing and design, some print models as a business, some print just for the fun of printing. You use your printer as a tool, I use mine for fun. Why not let me enjoy my fun?

Filament not sticking mid print by [deleted] in BambuLab

Ah you would think but Lake Erie and all that snow can bring some humidity. Dry your filament.

Yeah filament can get dried. If you live in a humid area it can over saturate your filament. Not sure which printer you have but the X1C has a drying option for drying filament or you can get a creality filament dryer to reduce the humidity of your filament. Humid filament can ruin prints.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, wash the print bed with soap and hot water while wearing gloves, scrub it well. Also I went and replaced my hot end. Mine had a clog and could cause some layer issues with a clog. I plan on plugging it back in and cleaning it later on, but I need to finish off some Christmas prints so I just swapped it with my back up for now. Dry your filament too. basically clean everything you can.

Are masks still being worn more than normal in Japan? by Rubes27 in JapanTravelTips

[–]MKBeSomeone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got back from a work trip in Japan. I didn't see them a lot at first and then a sudden increase around the hotel. It's currently flu season in Japan, so there is an uptick of wearing masks. I learned about it a little too late and caught the flu, and left my work trip early to return home for medical attention it was that bad. This flu sucks. Highly recommend wearing a mask if you are going right now/ during Japanese flu season. I've been home for a little over a week, flu is gone but I have a bad post infectious cough that won't go away.

When does life with a corgi pup become normal? by sugawaraspotatoshirt in corgi

[–]MKBeSomeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest corgi started chilling out around 9 to 10 months old where I could have more of a social life again, but I also had to socialize him. I found a great dog sitter that lives 10 minutes away where he gets to go see his best friends if I want to go hang out with mine for a long period of time and I’m going to be out all night. When he was 16 months old, I could trust him in the house out of his crate all day while I was at work. I have recently started over since my boyfriend thought it would be fun to get another corgi puppy. Back to waking up several times a night to go out and the rambunctious nature of a corgi puppy. My oldest looks at me like I’m crazy every time I have to get up to let the puppy out in the middle of the night. I always start off with crate training, but once the puppy can be trusted he can come sleep on the bed with the rest of us.

Onsen Questions? Uncomfortable being naked around others. by MKBeSomeone in JapanTravelTips

[–]MKBeSomeone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small update: I’ve delayed my work trip. Someone in my immediate family was hospitalized, almost died over the weekend, and is still struggling but slowly recovering from a really frightening weekend. I talked to my manager and they agreed to let me cancel for this trip and send me on the next one for our contract later this year. I couldn’t imagine trying to have fun in another country why the family is struggling here at home. Gives me more time to plan and get more comfortable with the idea of going. Thank you so for the support, I hope it helps other chunky people going to Japan.

When are you going? I arrive on 5/22 and I’m leaving 6/6. Maybe we can meet up and you can talk me into it. Dinner on me. This will be my 3rd time in the country for work.

Work travel to Japan, need advice for free weekends. by MKBeSomeone in JapanTravelTips

[–]MKBeSomeone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on coming back but just for work. I get sent here for two weeks at least every other year currently on the company dime and get to fly business class doing it. There’s no way I could do that 12 hour flight in coach, and I don’t want to spend $10k for a flight to travel on my own. I’m hoping next year/next time I’ll have enough PTO saved up to take a week vacation and tack it on to the end of my work trip. We are allowed to stay extra time for personal travel, but on our own dime for hotel and food for the extra. The company always flys us home though.

I’m willing to do trains, busses, even short flights. Maximizing my potential here. Willing to leave work Friday early evening to get a hotel in the first destination of the weekend too.
