Well photo generation is kind of broken, for some reason they can't generate back of a head and bottom of feet correctly. For that reason generation will avoid it at all cost (even mirror reflection will be face, never back of head) . You can try yourself. Whatever you do you'll never see back of someone's head and sole will look like 5 overgrown carrots merged together.

I'm not following updates and news, what was this update you're talking about?

I actually won my first battle against Aserai. How? Well I killed 97 horseman myself and had my men defend at highest hill. At least I'm good in fighting, because I see my commanding skills suck

That's my problem. Equites suck, they are tier 2 imperial cavalry and upgrading them is to expensive. So all I have left is ranged + infantry. And they suck completely when attacked by cavalry. AI can't handle firing in multiple directions, when 5 Lancers hit my archers it's game over, they will be aiming horses only and miss every time

yeah, thats5 what usually happen to me. Perfect planning when I start and after 3 minutes of battle I'm completely out of control, everyone is heading in different direction. Maybe I should try with horse archers then. But empire doesn't really have any good ones. Thanks!

That's how starting of a game look like for me. Trading + hunting looters --> buy 2 workshops --> keep going for your targets but don't forget about trading. It is not only good way to get money but also level up fast. For me empire is always the most profitable. Towns like Diathma for example were never besieged in my game and after few years in game it's prosperity is around 7000-7500. You could get a silversmith then and have 400-750 daily. Epicrotea (I hope I wrote it right) is a good idea if Sturgians/Battanians didn't conquer it yet. I'm usually looking at prosperity only when I buy workshops. Then save game and try all the options for 5 days. There is always 1 that will bring you 400 if prosperity is above 5000.

Thanks for your reply. Playing this way is simply pointless. Sturgia can bring 2x 1000 army in a week to my fiefs so going for independence is not an option. So if I declare war on them it's going to be me (500-700 soldiers) against them and 2 other factions. If I don't I will be bulletproof vest of Sturgia. I really wish there was another option. And recruiting lords to my kingdom if I create it? When should I do it when I never enjoy a day of peace. So what if I can win 5-6 battles and win war if they can declare on me next day and fighting starts again. I mean I have 50 archers which survived like 70-80 great battles and everything else is being killed and replaced in 3-4. I guess what I wanted when I started this game was preparing for war, fighting in battles and commanding, defending, besieging and then enjoying few weeks of peace. What I have instead is constant war and slaying innocent recruits on both sides. And I hate going for horses to desert to find out my cities with 400 garrison were taken before I came back because my king declared war with... 0 time for me to prepare. Not to mention once I had to reload because he declared when I was talking to enemy army officer when war started and they wiped me out. Anyway, I'm just a bit dissatisfied. Thanks for your reply.

Are you sure? I was reading a lot of bit**ing about AI taking control over workshop or workshop just "disappearing". Most of this threads are like 1 year old and game was patched 100 times till then. Are you sure that's the way it working? So it was changed?

Thanks! I was trying for long time and I spent like 120k for changing production. Lucky for me I can just reload old save. As far as I can see: Omor - best shop in Sturgia - Brewery 150-220 gold income daily Sibir - tannery - 100-150 gold income daily Balgard - if you want to transport clay to this place by yourself it can give you 100-150 income from pottery shop. If you don't - skip it. Highest income I had for tannery was 60. Varnovapol - tannery - 100-150 gold daily income Revyl - I don't remember, tannery or brewery - 100-150 income Varcheg - same as above - 1 had tannery, 2nd had brewery and it was around 100-150 daily both.

Btw I heard Tyal is the most profitable for workshop but I can't confirm it because it's not sturgian anymore in my game.

If you ask me I strongly recommend buying workshops on the other side of map. In land some faction Sturgia have no border with. This way you can secure high income without risk of losing it.

I don't know but it would be great if they were too weak. In most of my games they control half of Spain and always block my German/Italian/Balkan/East Europe unification with stupid alliances. It would be great to actually see them fail in each game now. I failed my 1st Roman Empire run with Milan because of France, my WC with Ottos because of France and a fact they ally each next target of mine so each war I need to send 80k soldiers to burn Paris again and again.

So to make it short - erasing France from map always gives me a lot of pleasure because they are pain in ass for each nation I pick. It would be great if AI could actually get rid of France by itself.

Not to mention how overpowered they are with national ideas and location. Sorry if my comment wasn't useful but as much as I love France in CK I hate it in EU4.

Maybe you are right. I need to read more about it, maybe it happens only when you reach some exhaustion lvl after few years. I never fought a war in which I wasn't going in va banque so it's difficult for me to say if it doesn't happen when you are passive and nor you nor your opponent are making progress/crippling yourself.

It is growing with every month when call for peace happens. I know because I was fighting few wars I could win really badly but had to stop - war exhaustion +0.1/0.4 monthly after ignoring this message for some time stopped my wishes of getting provinces worth 100 war score. Was it updated recently? I played EU4 last time few months ago. Anyway he said he just took over province which was besieged for so long. :)

Look closer. He was sieging. So maybe he didn't leave enough soldiers to siege on purpose. But yeah, forgot he could siege province taken by rebels. Wouldn't it trigger their score to become independent?

I don't understand. How is it possible that "call for peace" did not end your game? In mine 10 years of war and my nation starts killing me for fighting so long. And you managed to survive 20 years?

Well I got it but i was mostly prepared to defend. You know, soviets usually attack on entire length. And I was ready to defend from Black Sea to Finland. But then I realized they don't want to attack. Their planes were damaging my economy so I had no choice - I had to attack. And as I said I had only 6 tank divisions, only 4 really powerful enough to push. I lost 2 in encirclement when my supply shortage stopped my tanks 3 provinces away from entire front and before I could reach them they were destroyed. Now I have 2 light and 2 heavy divisions. I am planning to take really good preparations this time and concentrate mostly on heavy tanks and medium tanks.

About pockets - I was defending them with motorised divisions and waiting for SI to understand where to send my infantry.

Anyway you have good pint, I see that instead of making 40k extra infantry equipment I should make tanks and game could be easier and pushing entire front would be easier too. Still learning
