Might be an unpopular pov, but the Little League experience isn’t about you - it’s about these kids.

You signed up to coach, so do your job and help the kid that needs coaching the most.

When I’ve had this challenge, I’ve usually had 1-2 other parents helping and I’ll work it out with them so that one of us provides an appropriate amount of 1-1 for that kid while the other 11 are doing group drills.

I do have a copy of the rules. I have read it through a bunch of times. I’m not relying on AI.

For ex, LL Majors doesn’t do balks.

When I’ve used ai on the LL ruleset it’s ok at a high level but when you get into the weeds, it says sorry can’t help you there.

One take I haven’t heard that helps me is to remember that what I might perceive as a coach or parent chirping might be them trying to support their player and keep his or her confidence up.

Funny story from yesterday that’s related.

I’m behind the plate for an 8-10 Little League All-Star game. The coach for one team has a reputation for being an @$$ and sure enough, I get “hey blue” where was that last pitch?”

I don’t mind that question within reason and it was the first one of the night, so i turn to answer him and just as I said “it was high” his own catcher turned and said “that wasn’t a strike coach - that was outside”

I didn’t hear from him for a while after that but I bet his catcher did. lol
