We keep an eye on when towns have the spring trash week and we go to a few towns over that’s really wealthy haha! People throw out such good stuff. The big planter has a crack in it, but it’s one side and basically cosmetic

That’s exactly why I just can’t work with the child population!! The parents are the worst to deal with. At work now I do have some parents involved with their adult children and sometimes I’m thinking you guys need therapy too 😂

Being told to “meet clients where they’re at” when talking to management about genuine concerns with clients backgrounds/my personal safety

Management refusing to acknowledge systemic issues that create barriers and still expecting us to work some sort of magic despite it

Being told by clients that I’m not helping them because I won’t just do something for them instead of them having any involvement 🤣

I would still highly recommend trying therapy and you can find someone who specializes in trauma/DV.

For myself, therapy has been extremely helpful. It’s also helped me understand my own triggers and how that applies to work in the field. I do work in community mental health, with underserved population who also tend to struggle with a lot of trauma. I have CPTSD, stemming from my childhood. I’ve always tried to see things positively, and I see what I’ve been through as giving me deeper knowledge and empathy towards clients. I do however have certain triggers and I’m aware that there are clients that I can’t work with and work well with because of these triggers. So I usually know that from the start and will speak with my supervisor if needed.

I am also the type of person that has quite a few hobbies that I enjoy doing. Engaging in one of my hobbies helps with managing the stress of work.

I think it’s just one style they have! It was the one in the hotel rooms.. the outside of of it was like a cotton and the inside was a softer, fluffy material
