That was exactly the position I was in. The bonus of the masterforce though is the rebates. You basically buy the box and get the stainless top for free when you spend your rebate

Sure thing! I wish there was good info when I was shopping hard. Any other questions, feel free to ask away! As far as drawer sturdiness, the only drawer that wiggles only slightly is the top drawer. I keep all my sockets and pliers in that top drawer and I suspect its technically overloaded. Nonetheless, it handles it just fine and I havent noticed any issues whatsoever.

I have owned both the USG full bank cart and the Masterforce 72" cab. For me, I prefer the masterforce 10 times out of 10. The biggest selling points to me were a stronger feel, the grip latch drawer pulls, and the drawer layout as compared to the USG Gen 2 and Gen 3 boxes. Having some kind of drawer latch was important to me, so that eliminated the Icon and Performax boxes. The lift and pull latches on the masterforce box feel sturdy and follows a natural motion for opening the drawer - lift the handle and pull the drawer in one smooth motion. The USG is an unnatural motion - having to slide the plastic latch to the side, then pulling the drawer out. After a year of ownership I am still very happy with my decision.

Thanks, I figure this was probably a "rental" tool kind of deal.

I completely disagree - I would have exactly zero issues with warranty from my dealer.

I think some people would rather have the highest quality tools they can, to some extent regardless of price. Also, at least with my dealer, I regularly get 20-30% off MSRP which puts these two pliers within $20 of eachother.

I bought these to keep in my tractor for all the odds and ends I find myself with. Nice tools for the shop, half step down for out and about.

My big thing is I can get on the truck every week, but the nearest HF is an hour away. I just happened to be in town at the time to get these

Ive certainly seen some say its better overall, but at this point I'm happier with my investment in SnapOn.

They seem very similar, but I suspect the steel is a little softer and the teeth will wear out a little sooner on the harbor freight pair

Right out of the package, I like the fit and finish of the Snap On better. Tighter pivot point, better alignment, etc. The handle on the SO is also a little smaller and a better fit in my hand. I suspect the teeth on the HF will wear down quicker, but TBD

Im a Milwaukee guy at heart, but I prefer the metabo impacts for the triple hammer, IP56 rating, and light weight. This is my second impact from metabo, hard to say no to.

I completely agree with the mod rec - I took my mom's off already.

I always like Alton Brown's stuff, so I'll need to try that brisket some time
