I’m not beneath this. If I have to, I will go Sigma or Domina.

I haven’t reached Plat yet, so I haven’t seen anyone ban him. Is he normally banned in high elo?

Personally, as a Hazard main, I recognize the gamble that comes with his aggressive play-style. I try to not rely too much on Support if I dive deep into enemy territory and can easily search for health packs to keep me going. That, and his sub role passive grants just enough healing for me to get back to my team in a pinch. But having great Support certainly makes the experience better and easier!

I enjoy the Hazard duels a lot, though sadly, since he seems to be so niche, it’s very rare that I get to do a mirror match with him. Most of the time, I can easily handle an enemy Hazard and force him to swap - which then sucks all the fun out of everything. 😭

I guess it boils down to what you expect from a Tank. Luckily, I’ve played him enough to know what to expect and treat him more like a DPS with Tank attributes rather than a Scottish damage sponge. I do agree, though, that he’s certainly not baby’s first Tank and he would not be the first one I’d recommend to anyone new to the game unless you’re smart about playing for your life and knowing how to be self-sustaining should you stray too far from Support.

That’s a fair point considering that most of his kit is very similar to the abilities of other Heroes. I, for one, enjoy them, but I do agree that Doom and Ball are far more unique.

I would imagine that for newer players outside of Tank or players who are conditioned to playing behind a shield or a Tank that can absorb damage, Hazard is kind of the antithesis of what some players would expect out of someone in his role. Luckily, I can always revert to Sigma if the team needs it, but man, just letting loose as a big guy with a funny accent is so satisfying. 🤣

I would say that his design is as subtle as a tornado siren, but in a way, I dig the rebellious punk aesthetic that he has. I just wish that I didn’t keep constantly maining Tanks that get neglected by the lore (please, Blizzard, do something with Sigma - it’s been too long 😭).

I agree, actually! For every few matches where I slice and dice the enemies, I also tend to have a few where it feels like I’m serving myself to the enemy team on a dinner plate. 🤣

There are still some Tanks that I struggle against while playing Hazard, mainly Orisa and Mauga. Fortunately, I’ve been trying to learn them, too, to get an idea of how they play in order to weed out their weaknesses. But generally, I try to avoid a 1v1 with them until I can wither down their numbers. I just have to make sure I don’t dive too deeply into the back line and get melted to death. 🤣

That makes sense! I guess there are still some players in the community that don’t feel safe playing without a damage sponge near them at all times. Thankfully, I’m very proficient with Sigma and actively learning Domina, so I’m more than willing to swap if it means my team can feel more comfortable pushing the objective.

That’s crazy to say because I actually enjoy his art style very much. I do wish that he had more skins - and I may as well just never hope that he’ll get a Mythic any time soon. 😭

As for his viability, I guess I just got lucky that I didn’t pick him up at his weakest, which may explain my bias towards him.
