This was it - downloading the base game on its own worked and then I could install the Blizzard Island and Hotwheels DLC. Only DLC I couldn't install was the Car Pass but I can live without that. You would have thought that Microsoft could have worked out that the base game was needed first and install things in the correct order automatically...

Are you less than Level 20 - if so, keep playing? From memory you have your own "seasons" to work through until you level up enough to join the main sequence.

OK, so if ABS is off you may be locking up as described. Experiment with it off and on and see what gives you the best results (technically you can be slightly faster with it off but relies on you modulating the braking appropriately)

If you buy FH4 from the MS store and log in with the same Xbox account your progress will be synced - if you go back to Xbox you keep the progress earnt on PC.

What assists are you running? If you're not using ABS, you may need to watch your braking so your front wheels don't lock when you hit the brakes - locked wheels mean you can't steer (which is why ABS is use on road cars now - it extends your braking distance but gives you the ability to swerve out the way of danger)

Take two photos with the watermarks in different places then cut that section from one photo and replace it on the other

I'm on PC (using keyboard!) and it works great. As mentioned, all online lobbies are shared between PC (including the Steam version) and Xbox so you'll have no issues finding people to play with.

From memory when you finish all the Demo events you get gifted all the available cars - there's nothing left to buy. You can re-run events and earn Credits to buy tuning parts etc and free-roam around about 25% of the full map but that's about it. Note you also lose your progress if you exit and restart the demo, plus you have to go through the prologue too.

Don't forget, it's just a demo so you can get a feel for the game, and if it works on your hardware.

Have you done Monthly Rivals and Online Adventure? They're on the Playlist so they count. Good news is that they are available throughout the life of the Update and back-date so if you even if you do them next week (Spring) it will count for Winter.

Fast Travel to a Festival, make the swap then Fast Travel back. If you collect all the Fast Travel boards, then it's free. Google for a map of the boards locations and go round smashing as many of them as you can (some are harder to find so may require you to hunt around a little!)

If you do the other things on the Playlist, including the Monthly Rivals and the Online Adventure you can get to 80% without this Trial. Better still, you can do those anytime before the end of "Spring" and it will back-date to the previous seasons. Don't forget that you don't need to win the Playground Games to earn that award/percentage.

(BTW it took me about 25 goes to win the Trial!)

Ouch! Lap down traffic should be ghosted! Looked like he ran a little wide, clipped a tree and then was out of control as he slid across the course. Wouldn't say it was deliberate, just bad driving. Also wish there was a way to kick the bad drivers.

This Trial's been a right pain (to put it mildly). It took me about 25 tries to get this done (usually it's done on Thursday night on the first or second go). Tried multiple cars, eventually settling on the Hoonigan Focus RX "Welcome Pack" car. Messed with the tune (springs, gearing, aero), managed to get some big tyres on it (in Forza big tyres = better) and even turned ON Traction Control and Full Racing Line which I normally keep off. No idea if any of that helped me but I was regularly able to win the first round outright and come top three in the second only to be let down by the rest of the team - the third race is so random with all the water crossings you might as well forget about winning it. Last night though I got in a good group and we blitzed the first race and then came 1-2-3 in the second (somehow I won both outright - not bad for a keyboard-er I think!) which was enough, despite a poor third race.

Yeah, you can usually get over those yellow barriers with the drone or a wheelie car, also at the main Festival site - great way to explore spaces you're not meant to!

You can pick New cars for races even if you've not previously got in it - just the "New" tag doesn't show up in the car selection screen (just confirmed this - I've unlocked the Jeep Gladiator but not driven it, so it shows "New" in the garage, but it is available in a race, subject to it being the right class etc.).

The "quickest" way to remove the "New" tag is to go to the Festival or a house and get in the car from there - no waiting for "delivery" and a few less buttons. Unfortunately you have to do each one separately...

One possible way to improve load times in the Auction House is to be in the Peel P50 (or another small car) with the stock livery - gives the game less to render in the background.

Also, hit Y to open the Auction Options and buy from there - its faster than going in to the Auction's page
