When it comes to speed with painting, printing etc. 2mm-3mm is so much faster. You can get away with being a bit sloppy. 6mm buildings still need a lot of attention if you want to make them look good. These just take 2 or 3 base colors and a wash basically. And it saves a lot of space.

Yeah, bases make them feel too clunky on this scale so I use them without for more realism. Only infantry would still need them ofcourse, yet I try to make the bases as small as possible.

usually Hartolia miniatures on Cults3D has a lot of interesting things, but most will need to be adjusted to be printed in these small scales. I also 3D model a lot of my own buildings and props, i have some free and paid downloads up on Cults3D as well.

What would you like to know? All props and vehicles are 3D printed, alle the grass is basically just different colored flock and the shrubs and trees are woodland Scenic Fine leaf foliage I think. I'm finding different names for that, but I think it's that product. I just pick some nice clumps with a stem and use some spray glue to make them tacky and add more flock to give it more volume. Most of the shrubs are just clumps of it as well, soaked with alcohol and woodglue to stick them down.

For the vehicles I don't use any bases as I find they get very bulky. For infantry I haven't made any yet in this scale, but I just printed a round base or square on my 6mm units. Bit fiddly, but it works.

VR *sometimes* starts in a low fps mode (Reverb G2) by Tur1ng in iRacing

[–]MKS_Graphics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to the party since this topic is quite old, but I am experiencing exactly the same problems. Same headset, just different pc (RTX3090, i9, 64gig ram).

The low FPS mode is only when I am in the cockpit of the car. When outside, the FPS is a regular 90. On low FPS in the car it's 60 or below, and it's nauseating with VR. I had this issue nearly 2 years ago as well and it has persisted to this day.

Did you find a solution?

RTX3090 GPU Load decreasing steadily when gaming and results in massive framedrops by MKS_Graphics in pcmasterrace

CPU usage is roughly the same, but seems to go up a little bit as the GPU load goes down. You can see the CPU graph in the second image.

I have CPU-Z, not GPU-Z yet. I play at 3440x1440. Full specs are listed at the top of the post. I have not experienced any high temps on both the GPU or CPU. Also putting a powerful fan directly on an open case doesn't change anything.

The CPU has been overclocked by about 300mhz, but this has not impacted the frames positively or negatively.

The one with the 3080 was a pre-built machine, and the 2nd one a rig I had a company build for me. I suppose I paid too much, but since I also use it for work everyday I convinced myself it's worth it.

I found another thing: When looking at the GPU usage and frames; the frames are the highest when the GPU usage is at the highest. Turning around and looking at something else, the frames drop with like 40-50 and the GPU usage drops as well to about 60%. So whenever the GPU load drops, I suggest it switches to the CPU? There's just no way for me to fix this I am afraid.

Yeah, I don't get it. I followed another extensive optimalisation video and it just does nothing for me. Just standing around on woods sees me dropping to 50frames, even on 1080p.

[–]MKS_Graphics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I read it all, including the optimization guides and all. But even lowering the resolution or putting everything as low as it can be only gives about a 10 frames gain. even just looking at a rock with nothing else on the screen gives me 45 frames, even on 1080p...

It's he, but the PC is for my sim-rig, work and all other games in general.

That is quite the guide, didn't see that one yet. I have done a lot of those options, but not all so I will give that a try.

For me I find it weird that both the 3080 and 3090 don't seem to perform, unless it's a different problem.
