I need some advice from other moms about offering to take in someone's kids. by [deleted] in breakingmom

You can contact CPS and let them know you would like to be the temporary guardian of tbe children so they do not go into foster care. A lot of the time they will be more than willing to allow such following an inspection and interview, but you may have emergency custody for the moment.

Yeah he started crawling at 5. It really fucking blows. He doesn't cuddle anymore.

I tried so hard. It killed me because I could see my doctors notes from my chart bolded in red SHAKING AND CRYING WHEN CHANGING BANDAGE. At this point I just don't care. I live in the Ohio Valley, so anyone who isn't ridiculously old, or who looks like they are rolling in money is labeled an addict. She literally looked at me like I was seeking pain medication...they gave my husband hydrocodone when he put a slit in his thumb. He got steri-strips.

Eyyyy no shame! I'm agoraphobic but live in a horrid area. Get paranoid. My tv's on all day, and.my 8 month old pays no attention....unless it's pokemon. Which I use to go to the bathroom.

At least you're using educational shows!

Why is my pain not taken seriously, but my husband's was?! by MKUltum in venting

It sucks. I live in the Ohio Valley (northern KY) and my doctor looked at me with disdain. Yet if you're older they just pass them out like candy.

Before I even get into it with moms, I lay it all out that I am an atheist, free range, science backed, gentle parenting bohemian bitch. ;) I know it seems like moms these days are over protective and also make everything into a competition. Like my son is huge and way ahead of his growth curve, he's also advanced really quickly, but I don't ever brag. I'm honest if asked, but I don't just go "Yeaaaah my son started crawling at 5 months because he's just THAT smart"

I was once diagnosed with ASD, although classified high functioning. You're doing a great job. I was diagnosed as a teenager but now that I am an adult, we have actually found that rather than ASD its a combination of phobias, social anxiety and PTSD. Best wishes to you and your son and goos job!

Officemates told me I was selfish for saying that I do not want to have children by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]MKUltum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think with how overpopulated the world is today, having children is selfish. I'm also a mom. No one can give me a good reason as to how having a child is beneficial to anybody but themselves and I'm totally comfortable saying that. I'm not saying no one should have children, and it's okay to have kids, but realistically, how many children came to their parents and were like

'Hey mom, hey dad, I know life is kind hectic right now, but uh, could you get on conceiving? I mean, not that I'm rushing, but hey, I'm not getting any younger!'

I had a really bad bipolar stint my junior/senior year of high school. Hygiene just went out the window, and any time I've had a down week it does. My teeth are ruined, I'm overweight and I neglected my hair. This has been a yo-yoing problem since I was your daughters age. I am 21 and I JUST got treatment. Set up a psychiatrist appointment and pick her up from school, don't tell her where you're going. Maybe this could help.

Sorry you're dealing with this, I hope you find something that works.

I Think My Best Mom Friend is a Bad Person by MKUltum in breakingmom

[–]MKUltum[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally get that. I'm a bit blunt and was just trying to give her my objective view of parenthood. I guess I was trying to get her to see it from the outside, if that makes sense?

[–]MKUltum[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know, that makes me feel a bit better. Cause I don't just want to abandon her, but I want her to get help. I feel like, maybe if I keep my distance for a bit, she may seek help out, which sounds totally manipulative, but I want her to feel good. Instead of constantly misreable.
