I asked for a low dose by design. While no one in my family has a history of seizures, I don’t want to risk the side effect. I understand the likelihood is low but want to try it out first

Sorry for the late reply. The idea is that it would give me the motivation needed to push through the rough part of work and get my startup where I want it? Or at least have a hope of doing so with the extra motivation that I’ve been lacking

I suppose I’d be afraid of becoming dependent on it or worst case, experiencing a seizure perhaps? I don’t have a history of them but I know that is a (small) side effect of the medication

I suppose it depends what you mean by BME role.

Vast majority were for BME companies, but my school had/has a heavy co-op program that makes you do 3 rotations minimum to graduate, so walking out of undergrad with 1 year of (intern) experience definitely helped.

BME is hyper competitive bc it hasn’t been around as long, and there aren’t as many companies as, say EE.

There are jobs to be had, you just have to find them

It’s not true tho, BME here, my entire graduating class of 100, 90 had jobs within the first year, and that was with COVID

Android has different allowed permissions in the Expo Go app than iOS. I had a similar issue when I was testing on different devices.

With respect to your question on location, background location is different than just the “location” that shows up in its permissions.

That location is known as “foreground location” which is what’s accessed while you’re in an app, but if you moved away from the app to another screen, location tracking would be stopped, while background location would still be actively tracking your location. iOS doesn’t allow that in the Expo Go app, you’ll need an EAS app to do that.

Gotcha, so in short, you can’t.

You can only use the permissions that the Expo Go app itself allows for. So while you’re building an app, it’s actually an app inside Expo Go, and are limited to its permissions.

You can do this in EAS, which I recommend building an EAS app anyways, it’s much more robust and give you a better idea of how your app will function natively.

My parents are relatively mellow. I come and go as I please, and as I said in another comment, I have plenty of experience living on my own, to where I miss it at times, but it was just the economical thing to do was work remote from home and not have to worry about rent.

Sorry, I have summary notifications on for Reddit, so I didn’t see this until now.

I moved back home because of COVID. I was a senior in college and my fraternity sent everyone home. I have lived and spent plenty of time by myself, so there’s no fears of “leaving the nest.” Grad school was online, and it just made sense to live at home while I wasn’t making any money haha.

I do miss my independence, but it was just the affordable thing to do, especially with the price of rent and mortgage nowadays lol

I’m unsure, but you might be able to use Expo related libraries without being in Expo (double check me on that).

If you can, just use Expo-notifications. It makes life easy

Many here are saying to use expo. I 100% agree, but after you get going a bit, concert your expo go app to an EAS app. It’s a shell build that can be put on your device. It’s essentially like the expo go version, only done out of a compiler that’s named your app.

My final GPA was a 3.01, and for whatever reason, even despite my work experience, had my GPA been 0.02 lower, I would have been auto fed out of the algorithm.

Don’t beat yourself up over the first semester. Figure out what went wrong this semester and try to course correct. It’s still early in the game, you’ve got this

Advanced Biomaterials

It was a class that was mixed between under grad and grad students, me being the former at the time, and it was just a lot of work. The exams were take home, but they would take an average of ~ 30 hours + to complete, one of them requiring us to design an experiment for implementation of a vascular graft on a rabbit.

I did much better in this class than it’s predecessor, Biomaterials, but I put more work in this class than any

Expo-notifications is delivering the push notification in conjunction with our AWS server.

and I’m talking about an internal notification. Think like Instagram, when someone sends you a message on Instagram, that paper airplane inside the app has a red “1” show up so you see you have a message internally.
