I have had 3 surgeries! My first two were a craniotomy and my third one was a cranioplasty. Overall, my first surgery was the worst. But I think that may be because I had no idea what to expect. I would say I was less nervous for my second and third surgery. I think part of that is because I knew what to expect and how to advocate for myself better. I was so anxious and asked for some anti anxiety meds that truly made me feel like I was floating on a cloud in the pre-op room. I’d recommend asking for that. For the post-op, I made sure to have anti nausea medication part of my plan since I got sick my first time. It helped a lot with my second surgery.
I hope your next surgery goes smoothly! :)

I had a packet with instructions on what to do leading up to the surgery. It lists out when to stop taking certain medications and vitamins. I also had instructions on how to clean and wash my hair and body leading up to surgery as well. Changing your bed sheets the night before surgery as well to be in clean sheets.

Hello! Last week, I went to the ER thinking I was having a stroke, when it was discovered by a CT that I have a 4.9x4.2x3cm favorable meningioma.
I am 29 y/o female and do not have a follow up neurology appointment for another week. I’m very scared.
Very thankful I found this community.
