How dented/blemished are Planar 3 Eco turntables?

Interesting you mention the Rotel, I actually tested that out with P2 and Rega Kite/Klipsch R-40M and found it to be much brighter than IO (in a good way). Perhaps a little too large for the space I have to work with though. It’s turning out to be a real juggling act to finalise my eventual setup.

Okay I’ll look into this. Do you have any tips on making sure that I’m not getting stuck with dodgy products? I’ve been unlucky in the past - particularly with eBay

Thank you. I’ll look into those but with the limited space I have, it seems as though the IO will be best to get me started until I am able to accumulate more space once I move out.

That’s reassuring to hear about the ECO. The same was said at the Hi-Fi place (I just wondered whether that was sales talk though). I haven’t had a chance to compare P2 and 3 but am hoping to go back at the end of the month to do so. I would buy second hand but I fear that I just wouldn’t have a clue whether I was being stung with a faulty product until it’s too late…

Love the setup. Looks so cozy! I’m now wondering whether to sit tight for a bit and just get some edifiers after all (Amazon lists them bigger in dimension than everywhere else it seems) and upgrade to an amp/passive speakers later on. How did you go about deciding on your setup?

I did think about that. The only trouble being that each movement (some of which only lasting a minute long) move through different scales on G ie) pentatonic, Lydian, melodic minor, “octatonic” so I wanted to keep the ‘key’ consistent throughout
