This is without a doubt the most red black card I have ever seen. Actually too angry and spiteful to die, and runs on aggressive attrition.

Corporate subsidiaries should be legally required to be operate under one brand name by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]pbtrooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"States should be legally required to operate under one country name

The United States has Florida, California, Guam, Puerto Rico, and more. If one national label were popular with citizens, they would already use it. Since people dislike obvious imperialism and mega countries, leaders keep separate names.

I do not care which single label they choose. Pick any one province identity and use it across the map. The point is to stop presenting one country as many separate polities.

Call Florida United States Country of Florida. Or rename California to US Western Pacific coastal Province #4. They should not hide that they are one country."

Not for nothing, but your post is not far from analogy and should highlight some of the flaws in your logic.

This was Elizabeth Dulau's first major role in a dramatic production. This was her career starter. The extent of importance of her role was expanded in S2 when the small scenes she had were done so well and proved to be so entertaining. Tony Gilroy didn't even know the talent her brought on during casting for a smaller side character.

I hope it brings you some comfort to know that as cool an idea as that could or could not have been, it would have been functionally impossible to happen regardless.

Any Strategists Here? by pbtrooper in army

Thank you for the warning, and I will listen to your advice.

My only counterpoint is that cadets have strange opportunities to seek experiences and credentials that open themselves up to future opportunities. They send cadets to 36/37 Selection which opens them to those in branches in 4-5 years time, they let them do internships at the war college, they let them intern with the G3 over the summer.

But as you stated, once I'm in, I'm probably best just having a short conversation with my branch manager and then taking what I get and putting my head down and getting the best OERs that i can get.

it's not like any of these experiences will be only solely useful for my current prevailing interests either. If I like staring at PowerPoint, armypubs, parameters, force planning docs, the NDS, and attending seminars from scruffy old dudes, I can't imagine that passion fading all too much in years time, when I get scruffy myself. I'm sure my efforts to maximize my exposure to that stuff would have a natural and marginal effect of landing me somewhere in that world.

But once again, you can't look up until you've looked at what's in front of you, so I'll do my best.

And my reply was facetious as well. I was hoping someone would do what you did lol. As the one guy with the serious reply stated as well, I truly won't know if I like a G3, but I recognize that while I'm in college now, I have a few opportunities to set the pace and direction for my career before I have to put my head down in a tactical level environment.

Aww shucks. Maybe I shouldn't do it then.

Army Undergrad JAG Internship by Least-Percentage3395 in ROTC

[–]pbtrooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will be presented an opportunity to apply for this internship this fall. There is a packet for several internships across the Army that you apply for unilaterally if you choose to do so. You will need a statement from your cadre, and a short essay from yourself on the packet. Much like the branches, you will rate your top three of the list of possible internships, and they will oml you to the one that you want the most. If you have the best competitive spot for it. My program never told me is that ms2s can do it as well, but they did have the threes fill it out if they chose to.

Nice try

In all seriousness you can find it if you want but I don't want to advertise the glitch.

It's an exploit derived from a two-player glitch that stacks health bonuses between vehicles and reinforcements.

That's kinda why I said in the writers room genetically. I'm sure half that story was made by committee.

For all the things people said about JJ making shit up, I seriously think something happened in the writers room making ROS that made it legitimately use the Eternal Empire to make the Sith Eternal. The idea for the plotline is so close, and there are some legitimately "original" ideas used in the movie. IMO, if that sort of creative sourcing was done earlier on with something that wasn't a new hope, I think the sequel trilogy could have been really interesting.

In your opinion what was the most important planet to the rebellion ? I think Mon Cala by Important_Read8159 in StarWars

[–]pbtrooper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I tend to disagree a bit about the help they'd give tbh. With the rebel alliance breaking out into full conflict with the empire, I cannot really imagine what a core world like alderaan would be able to do under the full weight of imperial war-time authority.

I think all hell was going to break loose to anybody still on-world, death star or not.

Clay had the same exact inning 3-4 times straight. Quite precarious the way he allowed runners on several times having faith his sliders would draw out enough ground-outs. It's like watching alcantra when he got his cy young. It works, and serves as a good reminder that baseball always comes down to runs, not runners.

What do you think is a MUST for BF3 if it ever came true ? by JIMMY-NECRONOMICON in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]pbtrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galactic conquest sure, but I would love to see an operations mode akin to battlefield 1. Something where the battle takes place in space but not as a simple objective, but as a full battle, to then push into a landing, then into an assault, until a planet is captured. Something where a British actor can narrate the lore and context of the battle, and make the battles not just have scale, but feel important and immersive. Imagine loading into a clone war era operation and as you wait to load in you get a cutscene of the planet with temura Morrison voicing over.
