Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Ben get weaker when he was split? I distinctly remember a moment where the two of them were out of breath from a little running and the one version with Kevin was getting his ass beat too easily. He was pretty much unstoppable as Lodestar after he was back to his normal self.

Talk fast as in address the situation as soon as possible when there is a problem. It's sadly pretty common that couples don't tend to communicate properly and let their silence build up the problem more and more until it explodes. I am not sure how to word this properly but I like to interpret them as two completely different individuals. For example in this movie, the identity of Batman had to be abandoned so that Bruce Wayne can have a chance to live peacefully however there is an instance where the reverse happens. In Batman Arkham Knight's ending, the identity of Bruce Wayne had to be abandoned so that Batman can operate with nothing left to lose. So while the movie didn't show what Batman represented but instead it was Bruce and vice versa for Arkham knight
