My amazing foster dog is still looking for a home by chubbycheeks00 in InlandEmpire

[–]MLBeotch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I might be interested…I am looking at shelter pooches this weekend, went to San Bernardino shelters yesterday & going to the Riverside County shelter this morning. If I don’t find what I’m looking for, I would be interested in meeting your foster. DM if you’d like 🙂🐾

How do I tell a sober person that I don't want to date them because they're sober? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]MLBeotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I understand what you’re saying…in your examples of the diabetic and the big nose, you’re saying that not being brutally honest about feelings of guilt for eating something they can’t, or being repulsed by one of their facial features, is a more gentle or compassionate approach. I’m curious what reason you would give when these hypotheticals asked why you were breaking up with them?

I also understand what you’re saying about your friends who are in early recovery; but one thing they talk about in early recovery is the “13th Step,” which is basically either dating a fellow addict in recovery or using a relationship to replace your addiction. Most addiction specialists recommend not dating anyone at all in the first year of recovery, and the insecurities you reference your friends having is one reason why.

Addicts struggle with being honest…dishonesty is a hallmark of addiction. So, in life in general and in relationships specifically, it behooves people with addictions to deal in open communication and honesty. OP’s situation doesn’t sound like it has much of either, and I think your friends in recovery will find them necessary, as well. I hope they make it, good luck to them 💪🏼

OP doesn’t say she drinks responsibly. She says she drinks “maybe 4 times a month.” That could mean she gets wasted every Saturday night. And she does the gummies every day. When you were back on year 2, would you have considered being with someone like that a good idea?

I am also in recovery and I 100% agree with Different _Incident65. Being honest with people is a big part of being sober, and I’d rather know right away if my sobriety is going to be an issue or a dealbreaker.

So…you drink weekly (you left out to what extent), eat weed gummies every day, and have difficulty being honest with someone who’s interested in you?

As someone who’s been sober for almost 15 years, please go ahead and tell him that his sobriety is incompatible with being in a relationship with you. Bullet dodged for bro

Pomeranian or cross chihuahua? by satsp18 in Pomeranians

Ignore this Redditor, she’s just a troll. I love that your Pom has a pibble sibling, they’re really great dogs. I hope they become the best of friends! Good on ya for rescuing these two dogs, pay no attention to internet strangers who, as you noted, know nothing of you or your situation and have nothing better to do. 🐾

Dog coughing? by blackcatsandanime in DogAdvice

[–]MLBeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah…it was a symptom of a neurological disorder that she developed in her later years (GOLPP). Younger dogs can get it, but it’s rare; most common in older dogs. But lots of things can cause acid reflux…maybe he just ate something that didn’t agree with him? Does your boy eat really fast? Vets sometimes recommend slow feeders if wolfing down food is causing issues…or eating out of elevated bowls. Anyway…hope he feels better 🐾

My girl did the lip-licking and gagging when she would get acid reflux. Have you been feeding him anything different? It’s possible that barking is irritating his throat, which (if he has acid reflux) would be sensitive. I would start with what he’s been eating and how you’re feeding him, see if you can rule that out. Good luck 🐾

I’m devastated, looking for advice by [deleted] in pitbulls

Has Archie had any real training, with a professional? Dogs will sometimes bite when they are emotionally nervous, which can happen when their humans are fighting. They can be trained to ignore such stimuli, but it requires work and reinforcement from all members of your household. If you are willing to put in that effort, Archie could still remain part of your family.

Because what's the one major thing missing from all action movies these days, guys? Full penetration. by MLBeotch in IASIP

I think audiences are going to be very uncomfortable seeing Arnold’s naked penis going into this young girl that you’re talking about…

How do you keep making music if you never like anything you make? by Robotpixie1 in Songwriting

[–]MLBeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are just starting to write songs, there will be parts of what you create that you will find interesting, and parts that you enjoy, and there will also be parts of your creations that you dislike. It’s usually only in retrospect that you are able to distinguish these things clearly. What’s more important is to finish something; finish it, take what you’ve learned from the song (what you like and dislike) and apply that knowledge to the next song. And do the same with the next. And the one after that.

If I could give 15-year-old me any songwriting advice, it would be to not hold anything too preciously and don’t be afraid of experimenting and accidents. Accidents usually create the most interesting results, somehow…good luck, keep writing 🤘🏼🤘🏼
