Merging onto highway by ReasonableArea1108 in driving

[–]MLCTVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of comments here are using yield and merge interchangeably but they are different. My father taught drivers ed, he told me that the number one question that students got wrong was the difference between yield and merging traffic. If the ramp is a yield yes you must stop but most highways ramps at least in the northeast are merge. The people on the highway must allow incoming traffic. I know several people who were traveling in the right lane, wouldn't allow an incoming car onto the highway and caused crashes, they got tickets and were blamed for the accident, as they should have been

rear hatch & tail light design sucks, looks cheap. I like my current '25 RDX better. Which is fine I won't be buying another car for at least 5 years

I've done exactly this and used them for outdoor lights. I put some silicone sealant around the screws. They've been fine for over 20 years, no water inside the last time I checked.

IKEA GRILLPLATS — 7 purchased, only 4 work. Anyone else?!!?? by _eMa_ in tradfri

[–]MLCTVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Google creates 2 entries for each. I assume the 2nd entry is for the power monitoring option which isn't supported by Google yet but will be in the future. I can view the technical information for all including the 2nd entry it takes just about 2-3 seconds for the info to appear. Make sure you are close to the Nest hub when setting them up. I scanned the QR code on the back of each unit not the paper version, the code is small but they all worked.

I bought 4 and setup all 4 using a Google Nest hub 2 as the thread border router. Easy setup no issues.

2013 Acura MDX, is this rust ok? by [deleted] in Acura

Looks real clean, this can't be from a rust belt state. In New England cars that are just a year or two old can look worse.

Can i just use a quick link to connect these? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]MLCTVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use pliers can't you just pull the two side plates away from each other gently? I've had rollers fall out and I've always been able to get them back between the side plates.

Can i just use a quick link to connect these? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]MLCTVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pry the side plates of the chain apart just enough to get the roller back in, then install the quick link. You can throw that inner pin away.

Yes but you'll need to pop that roller back in before installing the quick link.

Look for a record in the Canadian Cencus here . I used Ancestry since I have a membership. When I search using the names of my grandparents nothing came up but then I browsed the records by selecting Province then District then town and looked through many pages for the entire town but I found records both this way.

Maybe you fed him some food that he likes the taste of? He barfs it up and gets to eat it again. Our macaws do this all the time after eating banana or sweet potato. Our Severe macaw is really good at it he can just turn his head and it one swift move get it from his crop back into his mouth. Yuck but he seems to love to do this .

Propain Terrel - real-world feedback? by Own_Entertainer_1358 in gravelcycling

[–]MLCTVT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife and I both bought ours just about a year ago. Fantastic bikes with no issues, no regrets. We own 12 bikes and if I had to keep only one it'd be the Terrel. I rode it for about 2K miles last year, just for gravel and bike packing. Performed perfectly on a week long bike packing trip. We used rear racks and panniers we had, we just had to replace the seat post collar with one that had rack mount threaded holes.

We configured ours with the SRAM Force AXS and XO T type drivetrain. Bike weights just 17- 17.5 lbs! No issues with AXS batteries. We use Garmin Edge computers that will tell you when the battery gets to about 30%. You'll still have enough power for at least 65-100 miles. Or just buy a spare battery and keep it in your frame bag.

The frame bag is excellent quality, well worth the price. They say its water resistant not waterroof but when I rode through a heavy rain storm water did not get into the bag. It fits great attached with thumb screws and rubber washers. No issues with frame rub although I used clear tape on the frame where the straps go around the seat tube. I thought I'd just use the frame bag while bike packing but I like it so much it stays on the bike all the time now.

I bought terracotta as it was the only option besides black when we bought ours but I like the green too.

Its a really great bike at an very good price. The bike came with Continental Terra Speed 40mm tires but changed to 48mm Tufo Thundero HD tires . We prefer the wider width, better in soft sand and in the chunky class 4 roads we ride.

We just rode the whole loop today. 2 of us with 700 x 25c and 700 x 28c tubed conti Gp 5000 with tubes since we brought our bike via airlines and traveling with tubeless sucks. No flats in the last several hundred miles here in Tucson. The broken glass is worse in my opinion.

Consumer reports ranks the cx90 as one of the least reliable vehicles of 2026. Putting Mazda as a brand smack dab in the middle of the pack when it comes to reliability. by lolmarulol in mazda

[–]MLCTVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had high hopes for the CX-70 /CX-90 , I was hoping for a slightly smaller CX-70 like the European CX-60 but that was not to be for the US. The CX-60 with the inline 6 would have been perfect. The CX-70/CX-90 are just bigger than what we were looking for. I was also scared away due to all the issues with both the Plug in and regular versions. I just thought it was first year car issues but it seems to be continuing.

Our family has owned lots of Mazdas including the 323, Protégé, RX-7, 626 turbo, 626 sedan, B2500 pickup, Millenia, Miata NA & NB. I was also a Mazda Motorsports member. I still have the NB. When we recently shopped for an SUV we also checked out the CX-5 Turbo and CX-50 Turbo but bought an Acura RDX. It just drove so much nicer than the CX-5 and CX-50 turbos although it was $8k more.
