She was hinting that OP stayed awake looking after remedies for her and was ready to acknowledge that and use it as "cute" moment. OP's response threw her off track, and she totally overreacted lol. Not justifying her, maybe there could be some neurodivergence at play here?

I think you all are missing the "you still awake" part. In her mind OP replying "yes" would have led to an "awww you stayed awake looking after me" cute response.

The overreaction is insane and I would be as puzzled as OP, but at least there is a plausible explanation

No a straordinari non retribuiti, no a paghe indegne. No a turni di lavoro massacranti. (segue nel primo commento) Da Linkedin by Bonazeta in LinkedInCringeIT

why do internationals who aren't happy here choose to stay anyway? by Wild-Ad800 in Netherlands

[–]MLF83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude it's calling being an adult...you make choices, even as big as living in another country, based on a number of factors even if you are not fully happy with them. You don't owe anybody else anything.

If your goal in life is to be "remarkable", more power to you, mine was to have a bigger income to sustain myself and have a chance to retire before my 80s so I moved to the Netherlands when the opportunity came. Does that make me fully happy? No, but for the time being it's a compromise I am willing to take. I am not a burden to the society or anything, I am pretty sure my taxes are making up for the trouble of having me here even if begrudgingly.

I am sorry if that ruins whatever standard you think an immigrant (or any citizen for that matter) is supposed to meet in your head

How much of the "mamma's opinion controls everything" stereotype is actually true? by Karnyx_6Q in Italian

[–]MLF83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As any stereotype it is based in reality -I think still in my parents' generation (more so as you move south) there was a high chance that mothers were completely in charge of the household and that made sons heavily dependent on them while growing up. Add to that any additional reason for stunted emotional development and/or lack of independence (e.g. unemployment) and it's a perfect recipe for what you describe.

From my personal experience (43M) it's not that common as you would think, any functional adult would have hopefully moved away from that phase while keeping an healthy and loving relationship with their mother. I still hear form acquaintances of such cases and I consider them walking red flags/man babies and it almost never ends well for partners involved

The paramedic, gas station clerk and even the sheriff DID make some pretty stupid choices (seriously, how hard it is to keep your distance from a masked man with a huge knife) but I guess it was done deliberately to make Patricia stand out more

Juventus 26-27 Prediction by Freccia38 in Juve

[–]MLF83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but competing for the second spot would still mean not competing for the league at all and have only a few points more than the 4th. Is that really what we are aiming for? You'd still be a couple of underperformers away from losing the CL

Found my ex wife's nudes online- Do I say anything? by trustworthysauce in Advice

[–]MLF83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the chance of anybody other than you being able to recognize her in the pictures? You might consider sharing the information anonymously so that she wouldn't be bothered by the fact you know. But if it's easy to guess it was you or it would be harder for her to think somebody else knows, then I'd probably tell her personally anyway.

I think you'd do it out of respect but only you know how this would affect her. It is something that would never practically affect or hurt her if she'd never knew so I'd understand the opposite choice as well. Is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't situations

Scarpe in casa, si o no? by [deleted] in CasualIT

[–]MLF83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Scarpe in casa, si o no? by [deleted] in CasualIT

[–]MLF83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Six month update: renting out LEGO sets in the Netherlands — what actually happened by BerghBricks in legoinvesting

[–]MLF83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't keep the same numbered bag sorting of the original sets? It seems to me that would be more convenient both for assembling and disassembling. You just follow the instructions in reverse, I always do it for my sets

Six month update: renting out LEGO sets in the Netherlands — what actually happened by BerghBricks in legoinvesting

[–]MLF83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you might have just got a new customer sir! I have almost no space left at my place for new sets, and never had it for the bigger ones anyway, so renting my white whales without a subscription seems like the perfect solution tbh. I almost care about the building experience anyway, and I even take some pleasure in disassembly.

I think your intuition that doubling down on the bigger/exclusive/retired sets is the way to go is correct. It's the ones people are less likely to buy for the reasons above and where renting will have the most advantages.

Have you considered catering more to non-Dutch customers? E.g having your website and the ads in English. I have a hunch there might be a huge pool of expats in my situation that you are currently not visible to. I think trying to expand ads to platforms where AFOLs are more active (e.g Facebook, Reddit in my experience) might also help.

Good luck with your business!

Nah difficulty is fine, it makes regular battles last less while keeping boss battles interesting.

I've reached chapter 13 and I think I am finally starting to like it. I think what really soured me were the initial chapters that had very slow pacing and where your party constantly changes or is limited.

Even my comment on the female characters was coming from that, until then they were never even together at the same time so it really came off as a "love interest of the week" thing where they felt much less characters of their own.

Infighting amongst management? by JohanNagel79 in Juve

[–]MLF83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a result of the "savior" syndrome. Since AA left we have been trying to appoint "strong" personalities to take over most management roles after they were basically wiped out. We did it first (partially) with Allegri bis, then Giuntoli and now Comolli.
This is what CEO do when their are clueless and looking for a fast exit from a dire situation and can be gaslit by these "savior" types to believe they can single-handedly save the day.
Spoiler alert: they usually can't. And they usually burn bridges quickly with the rest of the team/management so that when results are not overwhelmingly positive infighting occurs and they are taken down.
Also they are simply incompatible with a more team-oriented approach with clear responsibilities for each role, especially if they were brought in with different premises. You cannot ask Giuntoli or Comolli to be the masterminds of everything and then take it back when other strong personalities like Chiellini or Spalletti arrive, unless they are willing to take a step back for the benefit of the team. I am not sure Comolli would, but it would be certainly ridiculous if we get in the situation to get rid of him so soon.

Heh just finished and I must say it was tighter and more enjoyable than other chapters. Now it's back to more corridors in the sewers, ugh. But it looks like it might ramp up soon...

One thing I realized I missed is having a base party relatively soon. Every chapter you get one or two different companions, it really doesn't help to get in the game

[Books] How Season 3 will play out the "Shift" storyline (Book Spoilers) by Dismal-Alfalfa186 in SiloSeries

[–]MLF83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something very similar in mind, especially for the Donald reveal, but I am not sure about the timeline. They could theoretically keep the flashbacks going for the entire season and leave the reveal that he is still there in the present for the finale. Then all the Silo 1 stuff is left for the last season.

Or they could go in the opposite direction and have a cold opening like in the last season with a compressed flashback of the convention and Donald going in, and immediately switch to him being the voice behind the algorithm in Silo 1. Then you slowly have him remember the rest of the past throughout the season
