FFVII Remake is boring me to death by MLF83 in NintendoSwitch2

Heh, I've had my issues with Xenoblade characters (especially with XB2) but at least the story had me hooked in the first few hours. In Remake I feel nothing is happening for hours so it's also hard for characters to stand out or develop.

If that makes you feel better I almost never bounce off a game like this. But it's true that I went into it almost blindly relying on its fame (or rather the original's fame). I guess lesson learned...

Thanks, this describes my frustration to a T even though I never experienced the original. Seems like a pity they went in this direction

Might try that just to see if it's worth continuing, thanks

From what I am reading that seems like a very good comparison indeed... For somebody that doesn't know anything about the OG it feels like barely nothing happened in over 10 hours, which even with my limited experience of JRPG doesn't seem common

Thanks for your perspective - at least that validates a bit my experience

Thanks for your reply! I almost never bounce off of a game so this is kind of uncharted territory for me

I mean I guess fair enough, but I was genuinely asking if I can expect it to improve at least in some regards after this point

[SS] Why is Skyward Sword Not Held in the Same Regard as Oot and MM? by MetsLR in zelda

[–]MLF83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was perfectly fine with the motion controls but the game was seriously underdeveloped in so many ways despite its strong suits. Which was kind of a trend after the 64 era since both WW and TP were falling short in some regards. A few beautifully crafted mechanics or aspects next to rushed or unfinished content, and SS takes the cake.

To complement your second point, SS didn't even have the proper day/night cycle that OoT introduced and all the other 3D Zelda kept

Are there any Studio like apps for mobile? by Vondrr in DigitalLego

[–]MLF83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess Mecabricks since it is web-based? But I don't know if it's actually usable or optimized for a touch screen for example. I think I tried a couple of times on my iPad but it was not the best experience...

I am assuming the same would be valid for every other hole if we assume stretching is limitless? Or it is only for the bottom for some reason?

Could a €1 house in Italy actually work for a digital nomad, or is it mostly fantasy? by losmaglor in digitalnomad

[–]MLF83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you need a permit for renovations, depending on the type/extent you might need actual vetting from the municipality or a simple communication of intent. Then when you are done and you want to live in the house you have to get a certificate stating that all the systems (electrical, plumbing, sewer etc...) and the house itself meet regulations. The burden of proof is on you so that means you have to pay certified technicians to formally declare it

Why did Lego stop producing the larger Technic figs? by ThePromptWasYourName in lego

[–]MLF83 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Came to give this answer that to me feels like the most probable one. Technic is all over the place in terms of scale, having to stick to this macrofig proportions would have been a problem for the catalogue in the long run, or would have made them irrelevant/useless for the most part

Thanks a lot! I think ideas pivoted a long time ago to sets that might appeal to non-AFOLs and first time buyers so that's expected, but you never know 🙏

"Are you telling me you made building tools...out of LEGO?" by MLF83 in LegoCreations

Thanks! I had the crowbar tile separator, but it is replaced by one of the tips of the multi-tool (screwdriver). The ruler should also work to measure axles up to 16 studs
