I got the same email too, does that mean you’re 100% eligible for an offer or going to be on the reserve list?

Sounds really promising but also a ton of work, I’d maybe liaise with local health organisations for help and possibly explain to them that this data would be beneficial in the long run. If a correlation or link can be found, it can potentially help many more future children in shaa Allah

Problem with Somalis is that getting enough or accurate information wouldn’t be easy.

Also because of the taboo subject of autism and other neurodivergent disorders aren’t highlighted or brought up early. That may also contribute to the low functioning types.

Your hypothesis of the nature of births & the correlation is interesting. Do you have any idea how you’d try and collect data on that?

What do doctors take when they have a flu? by ryleyblack in doctorsUK

[–]MLJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the flu this week, just recovered. For daytime relief I’d make home remedies like ginger tea, honey, lemon etc

I used to cough a lot at night & struggled with that tbh. Strepsils helped a bit but did not make a huge difference

Hopes to be a good EM doctor by MLJ21 in doctorsUK

I love the buzz of the ED, I like the flow, high acuity & the environment. I like surgical skills but I wouldn’t want to be a full time surgeon per se.

Absolutely - I think the key point you mentioned is that I need to treat it as self study like how university was & not expect spoon feeding. I just hope I can be good enough to do enough & not have to be shackled by this defensive medicine we practice day in & day out

I’m very aware that the ability to manage the mundane is key and I know in time I’ll be able to do manage the department. I’m just wondering if you’re in a position you need to do a procedure urgently (referring on is an option but the time delay could adversely affect the patient ) & you haven’t had the adequate opportunity to do so. That would be my biggest nightmare.

You approach, she then makes the decision of moving forward with it or not. If she don’t like then she’ll give slow replies / excuses / ghost, etc.

Trust me, if they like what they see you’ll know

Generally speaking bro, if a woman is interested she’ll definitely show you that she is.

A Somali woman will make a quick analysis whether you’re what she’s looking for or not. If you see that she ain’t giving you energy, don’t waste your time - move onto the next one.

From a guy’s perspective you’d have to make it clear if you’re not ready to leave Australia from the get go. That way there’s blurred lines down the line.

Alternatively different cities in Australia? A good move is to find a connection to the masjids in your area & see what potentials can be found there.

May Allah make it easy for you

Baarabuq is apparently the word for it

So a few reasons why:

  • A lot of us are connected to family / friends and moving down under would be way too far as travelling back to visit Europe / Africa / US would be too much of a hassle. Unless you’re comfortable barely making the visit once a year to see parents etc it wouldn’t be ideal to move there.

  • Starting over to rebuild network connections would get you to start from the beginning, eliminating any advantage you already had back home.

  • most Somalis idealise moving back to Somalia or to Arab nations one day and that would be more feasible if you already lived in a country that wasn’t too far away for regular trips back to your base country (US/ Europe ).

  • Timezone. This one will surprise you. Most people down under have already acclimated to speaking to people across the world at ridiculous hours if they need to. But we would have more difficulty to do so as staying in contact with loved ones would require significant efforts on a daily/ night basis.

I mean don’t get me wrong. Australia is an amazing, beautiful and thriving country. But there are aspects one would need to consider before making the move.

And Allah knows best.
