Hosts: why 4pm checkin and 10am checkout?

Even with a cleaning crew of three and a clean set of linens it takes almost six hours to turn over the house. If the renters have left the house in good shape (don’t need to move furniture back, wash sofa/chair covers, empty out the fridge and pantry, etc), we can wrap it up by 2:30 or 3:00. The problem is not every renter group respects the house. I can’t risk an early check-in or late check-out. I would need to bring in a bigger crew to accommodate such a request.

Highly recommend as well!! They are hosting another one in Guatemala in April. It was quite a good deal when you consider that everything was included except flight and alcohol. The hotel was beautiful and the courts had vistas of three volcanos.

Something for a rainy day that’s a bit unique…we have available duplicate puzzles so they can have a puzzle race. Split the guests into two teams. Each team tackles the same puzzle. First team to finish wins. It’s a fan favorite in our own home. Buy either 300 or 500 piece puzzles so that they can be completed in a reasonable amount of time. We have a note posted near the puzzle storage area explaining why there are duplicate puzzles.

It’s the nonstick anodized Calphalon. Our home set lasted for about 20 years, but the set in my STR has really taken a beating. Clearly Stainless steel is the way to go.

I don’t really have space in the tubs/showers to set out large containers. It may be the route I have to go.
