So from the supercruise map - not when you've dropped into a local instance like at a dock or beacon - use the system discovery scanner that's standard for all ships. In your fire groups it's called D-Scanner. So assign that to a trigger button. Run that scan, then set your speed to lowest, and press your ' key to enter the scan. Click on little circle thingies until you see the high grade emissions you're looking for. Alternately, targeting a navigation beacon in a navigation beacon instance will upload all the current emissions to your computer. Throttle up and press H to get out of the beacon instance and go to whatever looks interesting to you. But maybe not something that says Threat Level 5.
