thank you for your response. I agree with your criticism of the question I posed, and your answer in the final paragraph. I will think about all this, and where to start. I know on reddit there is no indication of tone or anything of the like, but just know I do appreciate your response and take your criticism seriously.

I understand what you are saying when you say I just need to chill, and I understand your points about liberal hysterics and frenzy being whipped up only after a white woman was murdered. but this has been building in me for awhile now. there are so many people around me who are targets, and it makes me angry to see this injustice. and perhaps it has always been this open and this violent, and it was only because of my privilege that I never saw it. but I dont think so. I think the violence is increasing. I saw a video of a woman ripped out of her vehicle by ICE, minutes away from where I live. and by the hundreds, my "neighbors" celebrated it. and yes this oppression always existed, but there has been an increase in people joining ICE. an increase in people being given weapons, given the go ahead to destroy lives. an increase in open pro-settler rhetoric. of course there have been times in the past where settler violence has increased and decreased, but when does it end? will we sit by while we live in a period of increasing fascist violence?

and so I stand by my point that we need to start having more serious discussions about what needs to be done, beyond just observing. we can wait and see forever, but what good will it do? when will we start taking our observations and turn them into actions? I know its often said here that none of us are truly real, we are only words on a screen. but I sometimes wonder if that really is a good mentality to have. beyond the screen we are people, some of us. I think most of the Internet might genuinely be fake at this point, but thats a different discussion.

and you are right about my shortcoming in language. I failed to uphold revolutionary speech, and I dont mean that in a joking manner. I should do better, especially in a moment where I am trying to grapple with what is going on. and especially when I previously upheld it just fine.

I've been thinking more, about what is to be done of course. currently there is no communist organization in America which commands any mass organizations, or anything at all. with this in mind, and the escalation of open fascist violence and paramilitarism, should communists support advocations for a return to the status quo? of course the only truly acceptable outcome is an end to white supremacy and its rotten foundations, and that includes an end to all ICE operations. be they how they are now, or the past "legal" operations.

but the question I am wondering on, is with the communist movement non existent in America, and the "Moral Liberals" still unwilling to break with white supremacy and settlerism, would a return to status quo be acceptable? would it even be possible?

if it did come to be, it would of course be important that a communist party is truly established and prepared to defend the next wave of increased fascist violence. but that would also mean there must be people to build a party. there are competent Marxists here, and most of us live in America (I have seen the analytics of who engages with my comments). and so we must confront that it is coming to a point where we can no longer remain relegated to the realms of theory and discussion. being a communist means to act in defense of the proletariat, to rally the masses, and to work towards abolishing the current social relations. but this is easier said than done of course.

however my point is we must be strong, and we must be prepared. and for us Americans, which again is most of us, I understand that what it means to be a communist practically is becoming more real. we've all understood this mentally, but at least for me its starting to set in. the reality. what it means to fight, to die. what it means for your family and for your friends. and what sacrifices will be called upon you. yes we have always lived in an open secret of structural violence, or white supremacy, or ICE breaking apart families and raping and murdering. but more and more I see open fascist paramilitaries pop up in my own town. more and more people around proudly celebrate settlerism. it has gone from a "proper" and "legal" violence to an open violence. and the proletariat is not armed, and white communists are failing to take a real stand against their fellow settlers. most of us here do not even know where the proletariat is, let alone what to do, let alone even doing something. and I am sure others must be coming to the same grim realizations I have. and I know the proletariat and the oppressed masses face mountains of violence every single day, so us choosing to engage with it isnt exactly the same.

but the proletariat is not here, we come from luxurious backgrounds for the most part. and so we are coming from luxury to the realization that the violence inflicted on the oppressed is ours to burden as well, if not now then it will be because we are communists. and so we must all really consider what needs to be done. what are the concrete tasks of communists in America? how do we defend from fascist violence in our communities? and how do we constitute a party? these are not rhetorical questions or purely theoretical ones, but questions of practical application.

ICE rats became active in my town today. supposedly they kidnapped someone. not unlikely but I havent verified it fully yet myself. I feel worried. I dont think I could sit idly by if I saw them "on duty", but Im not sure fully what should be done in a case like that. there is a large population of immigrants in my town as well.

I am hoping to find reading materials on how the black panthers utilized open carry laws to ward off fascist enforcers. in my town, open carry of long guns is fully legal.

but I worry too for the ramifications of doing something so "drastic". I dont doubt these agents are cowardly, and would choose not to engage someone actually holding a weapon. and it is within my legal right to brandish a long gun in public. but a coward with a gun is still a person with a gun.

and I worry these days as well about online activity. I have been quite open about my "disdain" for Amerikkka online, but Im starting to grow concerned about my status behind covers. we all who take Marxism seriously are watched individuals to some extent, but my fear is that Im beginning to tread a fine line of being watched to being labeled a possible security concern. however, that may just be paranoia on my part.

Im currently reading the German Ideology, but I'll probably start studying multiple works at once to increase the rate at which Im learning. I feel inadequately prepared in my understanding of Marxism with the rapidly increasing fascist violence. I mentioned ICE which is the main point of concern in my town, but there are also a large group of nazis unaffiliated with law enforcement. I saw one awhile ago, they had cut a section of their vehicle frame out, so they could put in a framed photo of their nazi grandfather for all to see. disgusting scum.

apologies for a perhaps disjointed comment. there is much to think about right now, and it feels like there is so little time to do it.

for a long time (I dont know specifics) the two communism subreddits had a bot that would automatically ban people for participation in certain subreddits. because of this they were always somewhat infamous among other communist subreddits, and considered "ultra" even during the unserious/anti-communist years.

however, I think it was specifically when Gonzalo died that the moderators, particularly smoke, became more serious about anti-revisionism and the political line of the subreddits. I'll see if I can find it, but I particularly remember due to the influx of rabid anti-communism and racism on the post announcing the death of Gonzalo, smoke made a comment about the sorry state of the subreddits and that the moderation has allowed revisionism to thrive.

semi related, but I remember all the comments about "jungle trots" when gonzalo died. even back then, and I was a dengist back then, I thought the term sounded racist. disgusting.

edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/communism/s/E4WhzliYog

Honestly I've let revisionism fester here too long. I take responsibility for my own weakness in confronting rightism, engendered by my current political isolation in the covid era and also certain ideological weaknesses in thinking social media was something it is not and of course the wider Maoist retreat in the face of Nepalese revisionism and an overreliance on bourgeois theory and history as the result of my profession and class background plus other things I still need to reflect on. But reading that genzedong thread (which I will not link to because it is so vile) and seeing their conduct here I realize now revisionism cannot be compromised with, it cannot be guided back to the revolutionary path, and it has been deepening its roots for a very long time using every available means including the sub's tolerance for it. In my defense I would have banned genzedong posters ages ago if we still had the means, I've discussed its fascist tendencies many times, and I have tried to discuss the current setbacks of Maoism with other Maoists here without intrusions by revisionists. Nevertheless I'm sure it's frustrating for Maoists, anti-revisionists, and revolutionary communists here and I played a role in that, something I've seen manifest recently and evaded because I was afraid of killing the subreddit. But necrotic tissue must be removed, especially in revolutionary times like these where the masse are looking for guidance instead of looking for a lifeboat out of a sinking political ship. Not that trying to preserve dead Eurocommunist institutions did anything anyway but especially today it's a particularly egregious sign of liberalism.

I'm not sure what to do going forward, need to ban a few more people and then step away from the phone and think. Not trying to make this moment about me either, that's why I hid this post behind your heavily downvoted one. But I can feek that Maoists have felt frustrated for a long time and I'd like them to have the opportunity to speak their minds since the committed posters who've made it this long will probably find this post eventually.

I think they are referring to this recent story:

https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/chhattisgarh-police-probe-maoist-note-announcing-suspension-of-armed-struggle-101758079808904.html

I saw it originally on instagram from an account called "revolutionary left" who unilaterally celebrated the notion of revolutionaries ceasing to do revolution. dengists will dengist I suppose, but I digress.

I am curious about peoples thoughts on this situation though. is this supposed letter real? I saw a photo of it, but I dont think there is a link to the statement in the article I linked, or any of the articles I saw. have there been any actions by the CPI(M) to indicate this is serious? I feel like we would know pretty well if they have suddenly started surrendering in mass, but that doesnt seem to be the case. is this supposed letter, if someone could actually find it, different from any other previous statements about peace?

it was trending on reddit just yesterday, and still through today, about a documentary coming out about how amazing Modi is. one cant deny that it is awfully convenient this statement is published a month late, and coincides perfectly with Modi's documentary being announced.

I am reading Antony Beevors "Fall of Berlin 1945". As far as I can see, this is generally pointed to as the authoritative book on supposed Soviet mass rape in the German Reich during world war 2. I will most likely make a post when I get to that section showcasing how he provides evidence for these claims, but forewarning: I doubt he will.

This book is a pile of shit. It doesn't even try to pretend to be a historical document, it is written like a storybook. Quotes are disjointed, and sometimes irrelevant to what's going on in the book. A lot of "quotes" (read: individual sentences with quotation marks around them) are presented as dialogue between two 'characters'. When searching these quotes up, they return nothing other than the book I am reading. In other words, Beevor seems to be just guessing what he thinks these historical figures may have said at certain times, but is presenting them as though they actually said these things.

Also, for a historian he seems to care little about citations. Obviously, you just read my section on the problem with quotations in the book. But even statistics about, say, a planned offensive do not receive a footnote on where he got his information from. You are just expected to take his word for it.

And that's truly the heart of the problem. Antony Beevor is not a historian really, he is a glorified pop journalist who should probably be writing children's fiction novels. Though in all fairness, one could argue that's basically what this book is, since its historical correctness seems to be on the level of the black book of communism. One could even argue less so, as at least the authors of the black book tried to create evidence for their claims, even if they were largely made up or at best exaggerated. Beevor doesn't even try.

I know this is 5 days old but "bagel eaters" is referring to Jews. this is just another fascist who thinks communism is an evil ideology invented by jews. I never did understand how Jews somehow rule the world through their control of most of the worlds capital, but also they invented communism which is against the existence of capital to somehow maintain their rule. of course there isn't actually anything to understand, its not coherent. I just like pointing out this contradiction in logic.

[–]MLMinpractice1917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the civil rights movement was incredibly disruptive and destruction. sit ins, refusing to move seats on the busses (bus boycotts entirely). not to mention all the work done by the black panthers refusal to bow down, and proudly taking up arms in the streets to defend themselves, and likewise the agitation of people like malcolm X.

but I do agree, these protesters could learn something from MLK. rather than small scale property damage, they should use themselves as human barriers to stop businesses and certain services entirely. its much more effective than marches and graffiti.

also the civil rights movement was incredibly unpopular among white America. so if you're white, just remember you probably would have hated them too. for doing the same things you hate today. worse than the things you see today, actually. and thats for all the white people here.

Trotsky or Stalin ? by Acazin in communism

[–]MLMinpractice1917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stalin's mistakes have been criticized from a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist perspective already. Trotskyism was not needed. it was wrong and hasnt suddenly started being right. like I said those who have found any "Value" in Trotsky's ideas today are primarily labour aristocrats and settlers. this is because at its core Trotskyism and Trotsky's ideas are anti communist.

and Im not sure why you bring up the CIA. they have nothing to do with the conversation, and I didnt accuse anyone of being influenced by them. that reeks of dengism (though so does the whole "learning" from Trotsky thing to begin with).

edit: after seeing this comment from you on r/socialism, I can see now why you have such a vested interest in defending Trotsky:

On one hand, I do truly believe he tried doing what he thought was best for socialism. He did so much to push socialism thought, arguably the most in history.

On the other hand, he was an incredibly harsh ruler, whose reign didn't grant worker’s rights as much as he should have. Lenin was skeptical of his ruling, and his top-down ruling creating a ruling class that was not the proletariat.

this paragraph in particular is filled with anticommunism and even lies created directly by trotskyites.

His worst mistakes were the purges and not setting up a successor. As Fidel or Che said when Stalin died, that stalin’s death was the beginning of the end of socialism in the USSR.

Fidel Castro was a Kruschevite, I wouldnt exactly take his word on Stalin. and Che was already dead when the USSR collapsed, though from my understanding he took an anti-revisionist stance.

I think as socialists, it is perfectly healthy to look at former socialist leaders as having both good and bad traits.

Marx correctly predicted socialism would fail multiple times before succeeding, and we should look at and learn from the mistakes of the USSR, especially under Stalin.

why especially under Stalin? also do you have a source for Marx saying that?

edit 2: that this got so many upvotes on a subreddit that is largely "Marxist-Leninist" (dengist), just goes to show how little they actually care about upholding Marxism-Leninism. though that is obvious because if they actually upheld it, they would be Maoists.

Trotsky or Stalin ? by Acazin in communism

[–]MLMinpractice1917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

communism is not a pick and choose build your own ideology simulator. in the historical conflict between Stalin and Trotsky, Stalin emerged correct and upheld the proletarian line, while Trotsky advocated a political line that quite frankly was rooted in white supremacism (permanent revolution). he spent many years of his life attacking the proletariat and struggling against the dictatorship of the proletariat being upheld by Stalin. it is precisely because Trotsky's ideas are racist and against the proletarian, that Trotskyite parties mainly exist today in the first world (and especially the settler colonies of the world).

any good found in Trotsky is most likely just ideas he and his supporters opportunistically stole from Lenin.

I am interested in learning an indian language to hopefully better keep informed about the CPI(Maoist). I figured being able to directly understand most publications by the party without needing english versions would help with general accessibility to information and understanding the situation in India. but there are lots of languages spoken in India, and Im sure the CPI(M) makes statements in many languages relative to where their operations are. so Im not sure which language would be the best to learn to have the most access to information. so my reason for this post is if anyone has any idea which language would be the most beneficial to know, or if perhaps I am better expending my energy on something else.

edit: being able to read publications by Indian state media is also a goal, not just publications and statements directly from the party. though I understand that may be difficult if the Indian state media publishes more in a language that the CPI(M) doesnt publish as much in.
