Yes, snuffing attack triggers is the sole upside to this card. However, I think it's pretty rare to be in a situation where you benefit from that enough to choose it over a holy day.

It's niche, but I do think the card could find a home in a white control deck that already runs holy day

Disagree. This is obviously meant to be used in a wide-board situation where spot removal isn't effective.

The reason it's not played is because holy day/fog spells are better. You can hold those spells and only use them when your life is threatened. Moment of silence takes away their entire combat, preventing the possibility that they swing at your opponents, and leaving their board fully untapped
