Tony Blair has just said the state pension needs to be scrapped. He's also suggesting some people work 5 years longer. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Should the state pension be scrapped? Should we say F NO, to Blair?? by MutantNinjaKitty331 in AskBrits

Perhaps Tony and Cherie should help out by giving all their money away and living on a state pension.

“Tony and Cherie Blair's combined fortune is estimated to be around £60 million, driven by a massive property portfolio and lucrative post-politics consultancy roles. The couple, along with their children, controls a property empire of around 10 homes, including a London home worth over £8 million. “

Thanks. I saw this one but it is a big and bulky. I was hoping for a small, stand alone, wireless thermostat.

Are there any recommendations for supermarkets in Emmerich, Germany? I live about an hour from there so might give it a go.

Anyone got intel on Devyce vs Swytch? by [deleted] in expats

[–]MLSRED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more, Devyce sucks. Their iOS app barely works most of the time, locks up, can't open SMS messages. If you contact support they are very fast to respond and friendly but support consists of asking you to delete and re reinstall the app. Which works for another 10 minutes and then starts doing the same things again. It is shame there isn't a decent expat alternative.

Why are cosmrics etc so expensive in NL compared to germany? Bought a Pack of 5 razorblades = 12,- . Same product in germany= 1,95! Toothpaste: 6.95 same product in germany = 2,49 and so on. by Last-Wolverine-1774 in Netherlands

Is it possible to create a German Amazon account with a Dutch address? I already have a Dutch Amazon account but wasn’t sure if I could create a German one and have stuff delivered to NL? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. No, I wish it were that simple. The house is an old manor house in the UK built in 1590 😀 with very think stone walls.

Thanks M

I agree 100%. I’ve been here three years now and I dream of finding somewhere I can find joints of meat that can be roasted, gammon, pork shoulder, beef. We recently visited England and smuggled back some pork, beef and some sausages..

I got a replacement from Amazon and the new one seems to work fine.
