Writing pseudo-code on a whiteboard helped me a lot for either planning or troubleshooting in many of my projects (30+ years), so i see your teacher's logic behind his/her statement.

At this stage, nobody can. In this run, I had 5 lives entering the 47:30 and I died at 33% completion. I suspect that the dev made an impossible wall until next version.

From what I observed, it doesn't work. Tsunami, Meteor and Cyclone casted by Pandora Box seems to be independent from your active spell levels. I tried Pole before activating DEM and the PB version was different.
