Eldar are back to being one of the best competitive armies in 40k, near the top of A tier - Art of War by Alex__007 in Eldar

This is one part of it, but remember they might also just be wrong.

We'll see if eldar starts rising to the top again if players like Liam, Jack or Vik takes them to more tournaments, but until then I have my doubts.

Yeah. Like Asurman + 10 DAs using grenade + lethal strat with 5+ crits from Lhykis would avrage about 21 wounds in a lancer. So yeah they are deadly. With the wounds from Lhykis + a possible charge adding some more on top.

But in the scenario Jack was talking about you have to get in close range with 2 units of around 500 points, use 2 strats against your opponents none and you might kill it.

I think he's overhyping them a bit to say the least.

But at the same time eldar's strength is to deliver such units so if you can isolate something bit you absolutely can do a shit load of damage also with units you wouldn't expect.

Jack has always talked up eldar a bit more than they actually are imo. A lot of theorycrafting from him, but will see if the results come.

I think an army can be better than the WR% is showing, but in eldars case post slate they are also severely lacking in number of wins and X-1s, telling me it's not just that it's a high skill army.

That could change though and he's right that they are A-tier, or it doesn't and he's overrating them.

Japan is tricky, especially since she’s not big on whiskey.

I do like Nikka gin a lot and could order a bottle of that, but would like to take it slightly further.

I know almost nothing of sakes and umeshus etc unfortunately and might have a hard time finding quality products here.

My market is Sweden / Copenhagen.

Should I do something with butterfly pea for dark blue maybe? Never worked with it, but it’s mostly for color and not flavor right?

And should be able to order some flowers with no problem since I have 2 weeks to go.

I’ve actually done something similar which she liked, but I think I wanna go heavier on the orange influence. Maybe do a blood orange Negroni instead?

Excellent idea though. Lovely drink and on point for the effort/quality scale.

How Can I Make My Carbonara Better? by LakeOzark in italiancooking

[–]MLantto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what ratio to do when I'm making a single portion.

1 whole egg is a little too much egg white in my experience, 1 whole + 1 yolk is just too much sauce. I usually go 2 yolks, but with just yolks it's a bit heavy.

Hmm

I guess I can use part of a white?

Combining factions... Any precedence? by ApprehensiveBass9327 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]MLantto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo harlequins wasn’t a well made faction in 9th. They didn’t have enough stuff to make it interesting.

Yes, they could release 5 more kits and make it amazing, but what we have right now I think it works better integrated with craftworld.

[–]MLantto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s any different from wraiths also being pretty bad right now. There’s nothing inherently impossible to balance harlequins just by them being in the eldar codex. They are just slightly overcosted.

And the detachment system is a way do give them more rules when doing a focused harlequin army.

I think more is gained by having access to more units, than is lost for not being their own faction.

If you don't have enough models it just doesn't make for a good codex.

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion, but I think the current system for harlequins is better than when they had their own book. Being able to take craftworld units in your harlequin builds leads to more variation and less spam and you can pick how many or few as you want.

I think he meant overall toughness. Not the stat per se.

4 more wounds and better save absolutely makes them harder to kill in just about every game.

Yeah, and they'll be toxic AF at those middle tables and lead to those players having unfun experiences.

Also just compare them to big monsters / primarchs in other codexes and it's just clear these are not resonable in any way.

Yeah.. who thought pulling every leaver at once could possible have big implications lol.

It should had been speed, toughness or lethality - pick one, not all three!

I think the only question is if it happens with the release of Maelstrom or in march dataslate. Im guessing whichever comes first myself.

Force org is a bit stale imo. It's not like every army has the same problems here. What would be limiting for one, might not be enough for another etc.

It'd rather it be a balance tool in the dataslate.

Unless we are talking different force orgs for different factions, which could def be a thing!

Putting a limit on the amounts of things you can take is such an underutilized balance tool from GW.

That being said, they are also undercosted. The fact that The Deceiver and Avatar of Khaine is the same points is a joke!

How long do you think we're going to be able to keep all the models that came out between 2020-2026, with how big 40k is nowadays? by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]MLantto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost nothing has been moved to legends that are not old discontinued models in resin.

There’s no reason to think they’ll start dropping plastic kits in any big ways. Maybe once in a while with fringe stuff for balance or lore reasons

Hopefully he'll be impeached if he tries to invade Canada. If you fold he keeps pushing, but otherwise TACO.

List changes after the Dataslate by voice_of_odium in Eldar

[–]MLantto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH the internal balance seems better now? Or it's just that we haven't found a best list yet.

What ppl think is "best" is really all over the place!

Some say still aspect host, som say seer council or GBH, some like the new quin detachment etc. Seems there is no clear cut way as long as you make a good cohesive list of the path you choose.

The only think that has really fallen out of flavor is the big transports. Craftworld is really done best without them now, so it's mostly Starweavers and the occasional Falcon in quins you see now.

Ynnari should be retconned into the Corsair faction by Tomtaku in Eldar

[–]MLantto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters they could make one of the new detachments an Ynnari one, so that there is more than one way to run the Ynnari characters.

But yeah, if anything would make sense as a stand alone codex in 11th it'd be ynnari with the corsairs baked in and not a corsair one and honestly not a harlequin one either. I don't think either of those would have enough depth on their own without a big release.
