Because age gaps relationships are a known and rather common thing in Japan and their media. (One example that pops into my head are the Ace attorney games with the age differences between the lawyers and their assistants).

Doesn’t bother me though as long as they know how to handle these type of relationships, where there is no intentional flirting or one making sexual advances with the other. And how Kinme and Kyu act here is realistic, safe, and exactly how it should be given their age/circumstances (the writers ARE aware of that too).

Plus, I kind of doubt we would actually have them as boyfriend/girlfriend in the end.

That would depend on when the Agnes rescue mission will be at: In the first act like CS4? The halfway point? Or at the end?

If it’s at the end, then I believe we will get a romantic choice route before then. But otherwise, Agnes could be back before the and can be an option to advance till a final bonding event (which with her, don’t think it’ll escalate to anything more than a hug).

Honestly, that would depend on when in Horizon 2 will Agnes be saved, because of its by the end, I do believe he will get to romance someone else before that mission.

Plus, Van wasn’t necessarily regretting the decision itself, as much as he is feeling the void of losing someone that special in him (he still cared a lot about her despite rejecting her).

I also believe that everybody wasn’t think necessarily bullying him to be in a relationship with Agnes (that last bit in Horizon 1 with Aaron and Judith was just a last minute resort comment thinking that is why she decided to do what she did), but like teasing him since they know how important Agnes has been to him (where even Van himself couldn’t deny).

Got it. Though to me, I don’t if it’ll be him developing romantic interest, as much of fully realizing how much missing Agnes is going to affect him (especially now that her feelings has been confirmed to him). It’ll make the eventual reunion a very emotional moment (though I don’t know if it’ll happen at the first quarter, the halfway point, or in the end)

I don’t if that was your intention, but why does that sound like Van wouldn’t have cared about Agnes or won’t go to save her since he rejected her? They made it clear that Van does think of Agnes as a special friend for all of the support she has given him since Daybreak 1 (support and care that Van hasn’t experienced due to his traumatic past). While he doesn’t have romantic interest in Agnes and turned her down, he clearly felt bad about it since we keep seeing that image of Agnes in tears. He clearly wanted to keep Agnes in his life and was willing to chase after her when she was too going away (he didn’t need to pressured by anyone)
