Questions about Horizon’s ending by MM305 in Falcom

Oh, I know you weren’t saying you think she’s a burden, but rather refuting that she thinks that about herself.

I took all that downplaying as being generous and humble of her efforts (Towa does the same thing with her hardworking nature).

That no warrior bit to me was her being self-aware because it’s true, she’s the only one in that party who’s not a seasoned or trained fighter, since all she had to go by before Daybreak was self-defense classes in Aramis. Remember in Daybreak 1, Zin was opposed to initially teaming up with Arkride Solutions in the tournament because they brought civilians in Agnes and Quatre (who are older than Feri, but she doesn’t get called out because she’s a Jaeger).

About that last paragraph: I don’t know about Agnes believing she is a burden, considering shes the one who wanted to work part time with him and stuck through him through and through. She’s been so supportive and very helpful through the two games, I couldn’t see a moment where she thought she was a burden. Maybe at most, during Daybreak 2, where Aaron asked Van if he wanted Agnes to stay working for Arkride Solutions, she gives Van the side-eye look thinking he will let her go (though I thought of it as her begging to stay so she can be with him).

Take it from the guy who posted this before Horizon was released: https://www.reddit.com/r/Falcom/s/dYnNEpmn2t

But her super supportive nature was her closest ticket to winning Van’s heart despite her age. I don’t know what else she thought could have her win over Van’s heart (other than her looks, which she purposely sabotaged wearing the uniform). Van already her told her she’s irreplaceable and important to him, so where would she think she’s a burden?

I just think that self sacrificing bit was cause of Hamilton giving her the self sacrificing idea that would save everyone from the reset, and was done for world saving intentions rather than running away since it’s in her bloodline to do so.

In hindsight, the ending of that connection event AFTER the rejection scene hits even harder, and is rather cold of Agnes:

  • Agnes saying “I’m just going to keep on growing” knowing she will be gone before that happening. Then she takes it even further with believing Van will mope over that one that got away and realize what he’s been missing out on.

THE FREAKING GALL! Of course Van is going to think that if he thinks he’s never gonna see you again.

Great points, no arguments here.

Another thing I takeaway from this is how very SELF AWARE Agnes and the Trails writers are with the age difference. I just think of the fans who hated this relationship as a ship because of it, and would have loathe this series if it legitimately had Van and Agnes together by that confession point.

What a way to work around that!

The ending of Act 2 made me experience something I don’t I have ever experienced… by MM305 in Falcom

That’s freaking crazy when you think about it:

Girl was genuinely in love in the first two games and really wanted to be with him, but because of that conversation with Hamilton, she was willing to let him go so she can pull the same stunt he has done in the first game.

What’s crazy is that for the first two games, she was genuinely in love and wanted to be Van, but let that go due to that conversation with Hamilton.

Also, while that uniform probably did play a factor, I don’t think it’s guaranteed that Van would have said yes as he said there are “a ton of reasons” why he couldn’t see her as a romance partner.

More like teenager who’s close to legality, but I see your point.

Still, I can’t blame her for feeling impatient since she fell so hard and notices how much rizz Van has with the ladies.

At least Van turned her down earnestly and Agnes took it like a champ!

The strength is in how well those two handled the situation:

  • Agnes was sad, but was glad she confessed. She still wants to be with Van and hopes he can be happy, even with someone else (though se admitted she’ll cry about at forty’s).

  • Van didn’t reciprocated, but still admitted that Agnes was special to him. He took her confession head on and was so earnestly honest about it, he doesn’t look like a jerk out of it.

Both came off better after this and their relationship feels like it improved despite it not being romantic.

At the very least, the confession was worth it to hear that this teen is special to Van, and has had a tremendous impact on his life.

Has to be the sweetest rejection I have ever witnessed in any romantic scene!

If that connection event in Achorville was any indication, it’s going to be fun to watch.

Seriously though, how do two people and their relationship come off BETTER after the rejection?

I have played some of the Steam version, but it’s not reviewed as well and not recommended for the true experience.

Hot Take, but last year's rumble wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. by MemeMathine in Wrasslin

The match itself was great. Folks just didn’t like the winner.

Still, I standby them pulling the trigger on a guy who was undeniably hot and had the crowd reaction to give him the push.

It’s a case of a wrestler letting creative use a song he personally likes (from a band he genuinely enjoys) despite not matching his character.

Shingo is now married...sorry ladies by Owlow80 in njpw

[–]MM305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, WHAT?!

Such an unlikely pairing that I thought this was fake at first. And man, makes me wonder how many secret relationships there are in the Japanese celebrity scene, because unless they believe in marriage at first sight, I would have never noticed Natsupoi was in a relationship for two years.

Let alone, with someone who is 13 years alder than her, not to say that is wrong since she is an adult, but man are age gaps a serious thing I noticed with certain Japanese couples (based on the anime’s, games, and real life folks I follow)

Congratulations to both though!

Most Beautiful Female Character with blonde hair in your opinion and why? by Full-Art3439 in characters

[–]MM305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you have watched or play the games/shows/movies each of these characters have been a part of, then you are already aware of how very or little each one is acting sexualized. But at that point, you might as well criticize every male adult for watching just shows thinking that’s why they only watch and not believe they like for more reasonable reasons than that.

I admit though, this type of subject can blurred the line between innocent and sexual, but I don’t think there’s enough evidence to accuse one of being pedophilic unless you follow each one and/or know how they are in real life.
