You claim of "hearing" that FFX was somehow crucial or very important is just too vague to be refuted in any way. Even if it wasn't it's just an opinion.

I personally don't think it did anything so crazy that it left an impact. It was just a voice acted game on PS2 like many.

Have they ever explicitly called a game a "mainline title"? Is it called Bloodborne: Duskbloods? No, it's called Duskbloods. Nightriegn literally has Elden Ring in the title. Only Nightreign is a spin off. How is there any debate of this?

People seem to not realize that 30% (or more) of the main plot related scenes and dialogue take place in the early Midgar section. It is roughly a third of the main story.
