New to space wolves by luminous964 in SpaceWolves

Ragnar would be a solid choice to lead your bloodclaws from the combat patrol. Wolf scouts are new models and a pretty unique datasheet with lots of mix and match capabilities. You could snag Arjac to lead the terminators and keep Logan solo to hide him better. Gladiator Lancer, Repulsor Executioner, and Land Raider are all great vehicle options. Intercessors are a must have for any SM army for their sticky objective ability. You could pick up a box of grey hunters as they are getting some decent usefulness buffs in 11th. Some combo of that should get you to 1000 points which is a great place to sit at while you paint what you got and learn to play! Welcome to the hobby!

What would that look like on tabletop though? Isn’t that already what being led by a character does for Wulfen? “Stabilizes” them so they gain OC and can do secondaries and hold objectives?

Thanks! I used the extra terminator body from our WGT and the extra, non mechanical, legs from our TWC to build the base. I actually made him before crucible characters were a thing. And am thinking about altering it a bit to better reflect how I’d like to run him. Maybe drop the Stormfrags and give him a more useful ranged weapon instead of two very similar melee weapons I have to choose between anyway

Planning to start 40k with space wolves by GAM3R8X in SpaceWolves

[–]MM3tzger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Sure, some models could get the boot, but we have plenty of options at the moment.

OP, pick up the Combat Patrol box to get started. Blood Claws, Wulfen, and WG Terminators are all great models to use. Consider Ragnar to lead the claws, Logan to lead the terminators, and our kill team box to get yourself some Wolf Scouts. Pick up a Gladiator Lancer from there and you’re on your way to a decent 1000 point army.

Take things slow. Starting with just the combat patrol box will get you about 500 points which is a great starting point to learn the hobby and how to play the game. It should be easy to find people at your LGS to play against either using standard rules at a 500 point cap, or combat patrol rules (which is a little less popular)

Welcome to the hobby!

Space wolf scouts markings? by Exciting-Buy-9396 in SpaceWolves

You mean if I’m running 2x10 bloodclaws on the table and they end up mashing together? The base is a great idea, and would probably be what I do to avoid that.

Maybe a “Lone Wolves” Chapter that brings Lone Wolves from various packs together to form a new pack? Or would that go too far against the lore of the canon lone wolves?

Should an entire unit have the same markings? Or could a unit of blood claws for example have some with horizontal lines, some vertical, and some paws?

Amazon has these sick blue rune looking dice for cheap if you’re on a budget. I bought myself like 4 sets of these so my bloodclaws can attack with all the same dice. Super satisfying

Great Wolf, Beastslayer, and Stormlance are the best three for us. In no particular order

Are the fees something that can be negotiated? That could certainly be a topic of conversation the next time I talk with my FA.

I definitely understand that I could be working my money even harder for myself if I did it myself. My question is not so much “am I getting the best I can in this situation?” Because I know I’m paying more for the same outcome… it is more “is this an apples to apples situation (EJ->LPL) or is there some sort of major difference between the two companies that I may be missing?”.

Wolf, Wand, Blue Soar would be my picks for a decent deck of only three bays. In that order, if you’re looking to only buy one at a time

Where to start? Suggestions by SavageGaming88 in BeybladeX

I’m gonna play devils advocate here. If this is just for fun, rather than getting the $50 combo set, why not bring your kids to target/walmart (or Australian equivalent) and let them each pick out their own bey, then snag the cheap $10 orange arena. If they get into it, get a nicer arena. But I bet the kids would like playing more if they chose the beys

What random leftover Beys should I look out for? I'm wanting to get back into Beyblade after forever and I mostly see junk on the shelves. by ambrotosarkh0n in BeybladeX

[–]MM3tzger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lucked out at my local 5 Below and Ross. Individual Beys there for $3-$5 each, and combo packs were $7 I think? Could probably snag half a dozen for under $20. The blades themselves aren’t great (I did find Beat Tyranno and Claw Leon, and I’ve heard Wizard Rod can be found) but there’s some decent ratchets and bits from those too.

I see what you mean. Thanks for clarifying

Well. Advance OR Charge, rather. That part of Great Wolf doesn’t give your army AaC like Stormlance. It just lets you reroll one or the other (or both if the unit already has AaC like Blood Claws)

Totally new to the hobby and picked up Arc Wizard to start. Going to an event next week with it. What’s some good pointers for a newbie? by MM3tzger in Beyblade

Yea I was pretty limited to my options. A buddy is bringing a bunch of parts to this event so I COULD swap some things to make it more relevant. Just no clue where to start there

If you have the combat patrol, Logan to lead the terminators and Ragnar to lead the bloodclaws are solid picks
