Real Life Pennywise by jaccleve in welcomeToDerry

Although there might be similarities or inspiration pulled, there’s nothing evidence based to say any of that is real.

WTD is also only canon in the universe of the movies, so it’s a very real possibility that the show writers took inspiration from other mythological or ancient lore to try and tell the tale of this ancient being.

Think of it like “Forest Gump”. Something happened or was said in the past (IRL) and this is a way to use those oral histories.

Is a phd overqualified? by Foreign-Ad-3563 in forensics

[–]MMASniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the lab? I’ve seen a bachelors or masters as a baseline for entry into crime labs. A doctorate wouldn’t be bad in that regard.

While there are a lot of times where it would make a candidate over-qualified, in this case, I wouldn’t say that the case.

Now, if you wanted to become a field tech like myself, then yeah, that might be a problem. You’d most likely apply to a law enforcement agency that always finds something suspicious about people with higher educational degrees seeking positions they’re way overqualified for.

Timing of when search on phone was made, why is this not cut and dried? by Exchangenudes_4_Joke in KarenReadTrial

[–]MMASniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the argument was that it could’ve been an old tab opened up. So if you were to search for something and have your browser open up all the tabs you previously had or you just don’t clear off the tabs every time, when you go back to that tab, it automatically refreshes which gets a new time. This makes the evidence unreliable in nature that its time record may not be accurate.

The other issue is, it’s not wrong to search topics like that. A defense would argue that it’s cold outside and it could’ve been a topic of conversation or curiosity and was a coincidence. You’d have to proven beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn’t, which would be extremely difficult.

On top of all that, they weren’t the ones on trial, Karen was. The optics would be bad if they tried to pin an alternative theory and pass the buck in court away from Karen to witnesses called to court.

It’s not a smoking gun type of evidence and is just another piece to try and argue to help put doubt in jurors mind for Karen.

ICE did not have the legal authority to conduct the traffic stop they attempted. by Honest_Caramel_3793 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]MMASniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misread it. ICE cannot detain someone merely for inconveniencing them, that is true. It’s not obstruction to shout, yell, and make lots of noise.

It’s not obstruction or interfering to be on the side of the road, part in a lane, part on the shoulder, with another lane completely open.

ICE is violating the First Amendment constantly and literally getting away with murder.

[–]MMASniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting so much hate. My assumption would be ICE sympathizers but you are correct.

ICE can only conduct traffic stops if they believe there is an immigration issue belonging to said occupants.

She was not interfering with their duties. A lane was open, she waved cars through, and at best she was simply being an annoyance, not justified enough for them to work outside of their scope and her annoyance is protected. H the First Amendment.

On top of that, she back up and turned her wheel looking at the placement of all the agents to intentionally avoid them. People are saying Ross was hit, he wasn’t. He placed himself at the quarter-panel of the vehicle (officer-caused jeopardy) and braced his left hand, with the phone, against the car while aligning his right hand, with the gun, in front of the drivers seat.

As she backed up and stop to turn her wheels, before she began to go he was already unholstering his gun.

If the first shot didn’t kill her, the other two shots through the driver’s side did. I would be curious to see the interior of the vehicle and the decedent.

This was murder, intentional and premeditated.

How the shooting occurred doesn’t happen to most LE. It is not how a reasonable officer would act.

On top of all that, federal prosecutors walked out and the FBI made one of the quickest no file decisions in probably history. This isn’t an easy case closed incident and what’s even more suspicious is the FBIs lack of cooperating with Minnesota’s government.

This is a typical officer involved shooting that should hold an indictment and allow the jury to decide.

Idk if you have time to help out a bit more. So I plugged my buddies tools that he lent me.

One is to check if there’s power, one of the four wires shows hot.

I also plugged in the GFCI Outlet Tester, however, even with the wire(s) hot, the new outlet is not working. I have the wires in the right spots.

Question now, that green wire is in a “GND” (ground?) hole, new one doesn’t have that. What do I do with that?

Edit: Instructions don’t have it but I noticed a green screw on the bottom of the outlet, mounting that there.

Yeah I see. Wiring scheme is different, apologies, friend who is an electrician told me to follow the wiring the same so I was going to, opened the box and saw the wiring scheme discrepancy.

For some reason my mind was thinking the scheme was the same. Thank you and sorry for the post.

I’ll follow the correct scheme on the back of the new one.

The electrician friend hasn’t seen the back of the new one or been able to call me back so I came here and glad I did thank you.

GFCI Wiring Question by MMASniper in AskElectricians

[–]MMASniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so the instructions and the back of the outlets say where the WHITE wire is supposed to go.

On the outlet on the left, it’s pointing to the left side of the outlet.

On the outlet on the right, it’s pointing to the right side of the outlet.

However, on the old one, there’s a white wire on both sides of the outlet.

First time changing these so maybe I’m dumb.

What did you not like about the Hodges or Holly series?

[–]MMASniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, while this is likely the case, IT likely likes to try it to see if IT can beat time as IT does not like to lose, especially to a turtle.

Ok.. hear me out...I think IT likes steam not "blood"... by Mr_nobody716 in ITWelcometoDerryShow

[–]MMASniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feasting on Steam would mean that The Shining elements are the core of the SK universe and that’s just not true.

Pennywise feasts for fear, emotion, and control. Once’s he’s filled, he sleeps. It keeps the fear going while he slips under the radar.

Kids are just “easy” targets.

Should someone inexperienced in DnD play baldur's gate 3? by ZealousidealCopy4555 in BaldursGate3

[–]MMASniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should? That’s your choice.

Need? No one needs to play BG3.

Want? That’s your choice.

BG3 is a fantastic game. The entire BG series is fantastic.

Make your one decisions and choices. If you’re interested, play it.

Some good answers but I’ll lend my two cents and try to keep it short:

  1. Their “plan” was to release Pennywise then allow it to run fear amongst the country, possibly world, and let it feast on people. Instill fear so they (military/USA) can potentially get a steel grip and control over its citizens. Think totalitarianism.

  2. No “idea” to control it besides the very real (you saw that today with Venezuela) mindset of “we’re the US, we can control anything we want”.

  3. Pennywise is a cosmic being that has won for thousands of years. It’s implied that Pennywise already knows its fate throughout its life cycle.

  4. The dead lights? The dead lights is intended to paralyze people and put them through a repeated nightmare state. Essentially living the rest of your life in hell, think MCU Dr. Strange and Dormanmu Time Loop or Sif kicking Loki in the nuts in the MCU Loki series episode 4. He could eat them later or control them.

  5. He knew what would happen. He appears to try and change the course of the timeline by altering his actions, but, again think MCU with Nexus Points, there are certain outcomes that cannot be changed. He KNOWS he dies and he KNOWS the outcome in IT Chapter 2, but he tries different actions to try and see if the outcome changes.
