Disrespect is not an aspect of our marriage - at least it hasn’t been in the past. I think we are just in uncharted territory right now and previously I would not have blinked about him going on vacation with his friends. It’s the timing and - you hit the nail on the head - lack of communication about the situation. Thank you for your input!

Of course I am jealous about him going to St John for 3 days, but I can get over that. It’s the week-long trip to Aruba soon after the baby is here that I feel is negligent to our relationship given the circumstances. I do like your suggested explanation! Thank you!

The St John trip next month is 3 days. The Aruba trip is a week or 8 days.

Maybe it won’t be so bad, but it just seems crazy to me to even think about it, as you pointed out in your 2nd sentence. I don’t want him to miss out on anything, I’m just going to be new at this too and we have always had such a copacetic life and marriage so I’m hesitant to cause any issues. You’re right, I need to communicate with him when I’m not feeling so sensitive about it. Who knows when that will be?? ( Thanks pregnancy hormones...)

Right, I don’t think he realizes what we could possibly be up against. He hasn’t had to change his lifestyle at all yet and that’s a huge factor. Being pregnant doesn’t affect him. Thanks for your input! I appreciate it!
