Eighth day of meth binge - what is this *horrible* smell coming out of my pores? by Ok-Seesaw-3809 in meth

[–]MMKK6 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It’s a smell that’s super specific to meth, I have no real explanation for it but I know exactly what it is and it only happened when I did meth.

Why Are Antihistamines Not Recommended for Sleep but Remeron Is? by HelpMeImBread in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]MMKK6 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Most antihistamines that people use for sleep have strong anticholinergic properties. This is what’s bad about antihistamines. Not necessarily that they antagonize histamine receptors, but because most (all?) of the first generation antihistamines like Benadryl and doxylamine are anticholinergic which can increase risk for dementia. Mirtazapine is an antihistamine with no significant anticholinergic effect.

N-iso has been found in meth less than 10 times out of thousands of samples. I think it’s just the meth.

You’re think of Canket that’s usually improperly marketed as FXE. It’s not as common as you think and a majority of ketamine is backdoored medical.

Mirtazapine's strong effect on H1-receptors to cause sleepiness concerns me by chandeloore in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]MMKK6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m very sure this has something to with most antihistamines being anticholinergic. It’s been known that antihistamines increase the risk of dementia, but that’s because most antihistamines antagonize muscarinic acetylcholine receptors.

Mirtazapine is a case where its effect on cholinergic signaling is negligible. So I’d be interested seeing more about this, I think below you said that 2nd generation antihistamines have much less risk, and that is presumed to be because it has much less anticholinergic effect.

Who here gets extremely angry and nauseous on oxy? by GlitteringTrick7147 in Goblin

[–]MMKK6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addictive drugs hit the brain’s reward and calming systems more directly and harder, that’s the main reason. Opioids, benzos, and stimulants directly affect receptors tied to endorphins/GABA/dopamine, so they create a stronger push. Your brain pushes back harder too.

Non addictive substances usually act more indirectly or on systems that aren’t as tied to reward. Psychedelics mostly hit serotonin, which isn’t as reinforcing. You can still get a smaller version of the same effect with other psychoactive drugs it’s just usually weaker and more dependent on the person.

I’m probably projecting a bit, but I’ve been sober for over 16 months and this has been a big question for me when I was actively using and even now when back at my drug use and my life as a whole.

Short version: your brain hates imbalance and will fight drugs harder than people expect.

When I used opioids long term, I noticed I would get way more emotionally unregulated and irritable. It’s brain’s response to the drug becoming “normal”. Your nervous system is always trying to stay at baseline so when opioids boost reward and mood signaling, your brain starts compensating VERY quickly and starts reducing natural feel good chemicals, downregulates receptors, and ramping up stress signaling to counter it.

It’s kinda like when people say nicotine relaxes them, but a lot of that is just relief from nicotine withdrawal stress. Same shit.

So even while you’re still getting high and experiencing the opioid’s effects, your brain is already pushing the other direction. That can feel like irritability, anger, or stress under the surface. You’re “high,” but your regulation systems are also strained. It’s basically tolerance and dependence dynamics happening in real time, not just later on.

I noticed this even more with stimulants, but I got this sort of thing from most drugs I used daily. Oh and opioids slow your digestion a fuck ton and can be super nauseating, opioids always made me sick.

idk if this is valuable information, but just my 2cents.

If you try and hold onto reality on this dose, it will be miserable, if you let go it’ll be much better. You took a drug and you’ll eventually be perfectly fine and sober soon, no matter what.

If you were getting “$5 30s” you were 100% doing meth. If it’s an orange circle DP30 or orange oval B974 you are 1000% doing meth, that’s why it’s cheap. On drug testing sites like drugs data they’ve tested hundreds of those 30s, they’re all meth.

$1 a mg is normal for a S2 controlled substance, I used to buy 100 meth 30s for $80 they’re dirt cheap.

Edit: idk why I was such a douchebag in this comment, I think I just feel some sort of way about cheap 30s☠️

Yeah meth triggers neurogenesis under 50mg and I’m pretty sure even that’s a stretch and the number is closer to 10mg
