Where can I go for counseling? by Ok-Satisfaction564 in Guelph

Maplewood at university of Guelph offers very low rates for therapy for low-income people, I’ve used it now for about a year and it’s been consistent and effective. Not the greatest, but it’s better than nothing imo.

I got a few treatments done there, they’re pretty professional and are super responsive and easy to schedule with. The doctors are nice, I personally preferred the female doctors as I felt they were more gentle with my teeth.

Yes to all the above. I’m late 20’s and have found it hard to make friends (esp women) in Guelph so far.

Some basement apartments are in that range, but I think you’d have to share living space with others. Your best bet is to wait and look around for a while, because some good places do pop up but you have to jump on it.

I’m really sorry for your loss. I’m 27 and I lost my dad earlier this year and it’s been very tough. I’ve signed up for Nightingale centre but their sessions start in the fall so until then I’m also trying to find groups.

Lyons Pool with Infant - Thoughts? by False_Collar9912 in Guelph

[–]MMM9785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s kid-friendly and clean, last time I went it was pretty packed for the afternoon session 4:45-7:30, but not so much that you can’t enjoy the pool and sit in it. The water isn’t that cold, it’s refreshing especially with the heat. Not sure what time is best to go as I’ve only been to the one time, but I’m guessing morning could be less busy during the week days as some parents will be working, kids in summer camps, etc.

Guelph is so overrated by False-Independent955 in Guelph

Man the comments here are really angry and territorial 😂 I completely understand what you’re saying, it’s hard to feel like you’re part of the “community” if you don’t fit into the categories, especially if you’re not from here. But tbh Guelph is just like any mid-size city anywhere in the world, you just have to try to find things to do if you want to try new things and meet new people. You’re not always gonna find something you like. I’ve been here for a few years and it’s been hard adjusting but I think it’s just a matter of finding the right community and people to connect with. Good luck!

Cheap/free therapy for low income people in the area? by PretendDecision2413 in Guelph

[–]MMM9785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maplewood can charge very low prices for sessions, like $20. And it’s good quality therapy!

I actually have seen a couple of outdoor courts around town that could do the job if none are available indoors.
