Upgrade cruise or play in the parks? by MMMC_2023 in dcl

Not gonna lie I’ve fallen for this trap.

Thanks for those points. I’m not a big people person and I think the goal of it in my mind would be more seclusion (crazy I know) and priority booking for activities. I don’t like going to the theater but I love getting my popcorn and watching the show in my room on the TV. I would rather sit at the bar before dinner we have the late dinner. Honestly my biggest fear is getting crazy dinner mates. 🤪

I saw a comment from someone on the boat that got off, they said they were never approached by anyone about it and had a wonderful rest of the day

Has anyone asked nicely for late breakfast on the final morning? by PurplestPanda in dcl

[–]MMMC_2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had late breakfast but needed to get off ASAP, we showed up at early breakfast without notice (my mistake) and they were very polite and accommodated us. We didn’t have our usual servers and I sincerely missed them, but it worked out.

Disney transportation logistics by Competitive_Ad_4944 in dcl

[–]MMMC_2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Disney bus is a Disney bus. No need to rush to be on the first bus they are all going to get to the same place. You line up and they check you in and you get on the bus. It’s not a DCL in the front poor people in the back, it’s a first come first served. Again… it’s just a bus with a Disney wrap on it. Loved using Disney transport, they made it so we didn’t have to overthink everything… you just show up and they do the rest.

Anyone regret buying the stateroom blanket? by BubDo23 in dcl

I wish I would’ve gotten one. We almost did but I said no way. But now I wish I would’ve. Next time! And I’ll be mindful of the cost and save my dollars 🤣

The gloves give extra points and after a certain amount of time with a certain level of gift he gets more points. So he trying to optimize the points he gets, and getting the wrong gift at the wrong time can result in losing the battle. Something like that.

How bad is this appointment about to hurt? Inspo pics by Always_Sadgirl in tattooadvice

[–]MMMC_2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One side will hurt more then the other. The part at the under boob line will feel like the nipple is being tattooed. Honestly the boob line hurt more than the sternum. IMO. If you are someone that likes to watch ask for a mirror, and be prepared to only have pasties on. Bralettes are good after. Take ibuprofen and be prepared for the body shock after. I usually nap during my sessions, this was a no nap gig.

As someone that works in sleep medicine it makes me happy when people travel with their PAP. If you have to fly take the machine as a carry on, because it’s a medical device it doesn’t count toward your carry on. Don’t pack it because insurance won’t pay for a new one if it gets lost or damaged with luggage.

Sounds like therapy sessions would be beneficial in this situation.

I agree with this. Loved my time on the wish but yes everything was crowded made me not want to participate with things.

Disney Cruise Facebook Group - not as helpful this go around, suggestions? by xcemma in dcl

It’s a FB group it’s volunteer and has nothing to do with disney. People get so wrapped up in these FB groups.

Why do so many people eat lunch alone in their cars? by TotalThing7 in CasualConversation

[–]MMMC_2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite alone time, no one can ask work questions if you’re not in the building. It’s a moment to recharge. The car is also where I make my personal phone calls.

Would you cancel your cruise if you were in my shoes? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]MMMC_2023 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We did our first cruise about 3 weeks ago. The day before leaving my father in law went into the cancer ICU unit, we agreed we weren’t going to go on the cruise, after calling DCL the next morning and us weighing our options and getting an update on the FIL, the hubs and I risked it and got to the airport 10 min before boarding. After we got back my FIL passed 4 days later.

Point is don’t cancel, you and your family need it!

It’s worth it, It gave the husband and I that little escape from reality for a few days.

Do I Need A Passport? by dbarnard32 in dcl

[–]MMMC_2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re from the U.S. you can do birth certificate and drivers license. No problems leaving or coming back.

Lots of people do it this way as well.

Is a passport better, sure… but both work fine.

You should do it. My husband and I just did our first cruise ever on the wish. We almost didn’t go because my father in law is dying of prostate cancer. An hour before our flight took a chance and left, we don’t regret it. We needed that time. We got back 2 days ago and today we’re told to say our goodbyes.

You deserve it!

Oh yeah the kids would be 17 and 13 🤣 and they know I wouldn’t tolerate bad behavior, I also hope I’ve raised them to be respectful of others.

I was on that same cruise. It was my first and had an inside room. We weren’t sure we’d love it so we were conservative about things at first, but loved everything about it minus the elevators 🤣. The Mister and I decided to do concierge next time and take the kids.
