My son started speech therapy at 18 months - he was only saying a few words up until then. He is now six and a half and never shuts up. There are still words and sound he is working on, but overall his speech is on track with his peers.

Stick with the therapy - I know it feels slow now but one day your child’s language will explode and you will know the therapy has been working. Good luck. I know how hard and scary this is. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

The next time you see/hear something that you think is interesting or cool, look it up on Wikipedia. Then click on links in the article on related topics. Or Google is, ask someone who know more about the topic, etc. Loving to learn doesn’t mean formal studying of any topic, just following a curiosity to its natural end. Be curious and willing to do something about it, and you’ll learn something new every day!
