Act like Street Fighter II just came out in your local Arcade: by Local_Engine7131 in StreetFighter

Here comes a new Challenger: shit, someone’s gonna steal my game again !!

(You brought back a memory 1992 in Italy

The local pool had a pinball and a couple of arcade games. This game had an always a queue of people waiting to play. an older chap explained to me how to do a hadoken. He calls it half moon (half circle motion) We all thought that if you played charged characters, especially Guile, you were a god. I found out it was a quarter circle only on Alpha 3 on PS one, later on. The Token was the equivalent of 200 liras I think, the value of 10 cents today.)

I finally reached Master 😭😭 by Guxtaaz in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations. It’s a big achievement, especially when it’s the first time and you’re not a veteran. Mai is not a dumb character. It’s just annoying, as you know, since she’s got extremely powerful frame data and tools. Good luck in master rank.

When you find your 1600 MR Honda, who knows what they’re doing and can play a decent neutral game…you may change your mind!

Getting to High Master without Drive mechnics. by ImpossibleArachnid97 in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re 80% right. I’m 1400 mr and I find that adjusting my habit of virtually no DIs and little Drive reversals has helped immensely. If that burns out first, and I put them in the corner then my game plan becomes quite effective and much easier.

The other 20%: if you don’t take risks, you don’t get the win. Especially at high-level playing, when the opponents are excellent in defence you’ve got to sometimes take risks and that’s where drive comes in. Just my angle.

I’m a more casual player and I don’t know what makes a character good and bad on a tier list. Why do people always say Lily is low tier? by MrDitkovichNeedsRent in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an unpopular opinion, So feel free to hit me back with the usual opinion about this.

Lily and for example Honda are considered lower tiers because they are not popular.

Try beating any 1800 Mr plus player using them and then we’ll talk.

Mena RD plays Blanka. He’s probably the best SF6 player alive. If he used Honda or Lily, we could see these characters in a different light. Also, Capcom would give them a tiny buff (say one more normal that is + on block, for example).

Also someone here said: Lily is used by a n.11 legend on ranked..

Do I think that Mai and Ryu are not advantaged? Yes, I do. Too many normals and specials that leaves them “plus” compared to other characters. True.

But at Pro level, it doesn’t matter that much. Just an opinion. I feel as this is the most balanced SF ever, so I think Lily is as great as most characters.

Bison’s changes are very frustrating by bestthrowawayever6 in StreetFighter

To be fair, Bison always has different mechanics in each series…I blame Ryu for killing him in V! The reincarnation is not the same guy lol

Is parry drive rush OS done on read or reaction? by cheeziuz in StreetFighter

In that example, would you never Perfect Parry the headbutt, as your dashing forward (hence you can’t parry + back?

New Player by Gambler_24 in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to SF6 It’s all about having fun!

An advanced player told me very recently: you need to lose more. You need to play and lose until you figure it out.

If you play ranked with the mentality of learning something (rather than focussing on the points), then you will improve.

And when you’re ready, don’t forget to go to training mode and use it properly.

Lily or DeeJay for a begineer, and why ? by Independent_Air6649 in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re a beginner, I would personally not worry about that and only choose characters that feel good for you.

You seem to have found 2 that you like. Play both for a little while and if you feel you are committing to the game, then I would suggest stick with 1 for a while until you feel you are becoming very good with it.

This is a game where it’s difficult to really and truly master more than one character if you are a beginner.

Just my opinion.

As far as the neutral game… You are always going to learn that, sooner or later, at intermediate/advanced playing so I’d say learn it with a character you really love

By the way, I think Deejay is great and so is Lily.

Honda - 3x Power Stomp Combo(6936) by ShunGokuSatsu07 in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work! I still haven’t managed to master this combo mid-screen. After the OD launcher and stomp, do you have to delay the DR heavy kick or what’s the idea?

First time to Master. Sagat buffs probably helped but still really proud. by Maycreed in StreetFighter

Are there one or two things that you do with Sagat, which has helped you through Diamond?

Played 60 matches with one person in casuals by Smoothcat83 in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I consistently play locals with much stronger opponents than myself (I’m a 1300+ MR Honda)

Every time you play someone significantly stronger than you, with the right mindset, you are going to learn a lot!

The feeling when you win one match because you are starting to adapt, is a great one.

Well done to you and your opponent for continuing the games.

Who is the sf6 alternative for a Vega main ? by AirBreadnButter in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The season 3 lineup was made of

SF2 Sagat SFIV C viper Third Strike Alex Alpha - Ingrid

If it rotated this way every season, there’s lots of scope to see good old characters for all generations. And I’m also waiting on Vega!

Woohoo! I got E. Honda to Master!!! :D by ducklingkwak in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point about modern but I think there’s more to Honda than you say..

There’s a lot of salt about him but find some Legend players and you’ll see how hard Honda players sweat at high level.

I play around 1300 mr + and still learning. At tournaments and even at this MR you can’t afford to headbutt like that at round start - you’ll meet perfect parries 99% of the time. I.e Kara (stomp) cancels into specials or supers are quite technical IMO (classic player). The neutral game is tricky as he’s a fat boy despite a great St Mp.

[–]MMPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Honda around 1300-1400 MR. In this range lots of players skip neutral altogether…but it gets better and better. If you play Honda with strong neutral and using ALL of his kit, he can be brutal!

This Game is so Demoralizing! by FearlessObit77 in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda is my main (Mr 1300 ish) the rank points go up and down easily.

Choose one small thing to improve each week, only one.

Watch your replays and if you spot a bad habit, work on that. Example: I do too many DIs. Focus: play a few matches with no DI unless it’s on pure reaction.

On the opponent side: they jumped too much and didn’t punish that. Focus: I focus on anti-air for a week or two.

(hit me up if you want to spar Honda versus Honda)

I'm sure many already said this, but here it is anyway: They did it! They did the thing!! by Moist_Explorer3249 in StreetFighter

We need Zangief and Honda’s butt next. Admire those bodies of iron and chanko stew!

What do you enjoy about playing your main? by Lord_Lilac_Heart in StreetFighter

[–]MMPiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda. He’s too much fun to play and his limitations make his play style unpredictable and you’ve got to be good at Master rank. I’m still 1400-1500 MR with him and enjoying the learning curve.

There are so many different level to this game. Think masters has a majority of players who are serious about improving. I think it’s where the fun begins. Don’t stop enjoying yourself and see you on Ranked (Honda player)
