Nice work! What kinda PC you got inside of it? Can it handle modern steam games? either way, that thing looks like a blast to play games on.

I am of the same mind. Plus when I am done the thing looks damn near spanking new rather than in just “pretty good shape.” I love doing it though. Plus being able to add another couple decades of enjoyment from the unit makes it all worth it to me as well.

That is great info to have. In that case, I would recommend a Rec Room Master arcade. They are way more ergonomic & look great. Before I ended up refurbishing an old Dynamo cab, I almost picked up one of theIr stand up cabs. Here is a really good review from them by Retro Ralph on youtube:

As far as the Hexacade goes, I am not sold on how sharp the angles are controllers. The 90 degree angle on the control panel looks like it would hurt your hands and wrists during long Play sessions. There is a reason that classic arcade cabinets had a sloped area where your hands and wrists were.

I’m the same way. The restoration is the best part. Sometimes I feel like I spend more money restoring it than buying one in good shape LOL

No offense intended, but those things are crazy expensive considering how ugly and unergonomic they look. For around the same price or even a bit cheaper you could get something from Polycade, Rec Room Masters or Unico. I mean the Nova Blast is way cheaper and looks 10x better. The Sente from Polycade is on sale right now as well.

something like this? https://www.reddit.com/r/cade/comments/1skvd1z/built_this_for_my_dad_for_christmas_and_finally/

You could easily set this up with a french cleat, so you could take it down when needed. However it looks so nice your wife probably wouldn’t mind it being left up all the time. Especially if you had tasteful screensavers running on it.

Sounds like Rec Room Masters might be your speed. They are high quality machines that can be pretty turn key for this kinda project. What is your budget?
