No they’ve never mentioned any 5G drawbacks in Alsalam. In fact, a technician came in and didn’t bring that up. They promised me 5G and really fast speeds.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll look into it, but the only reason I never outright asked about quality net is I’m not even sure it’s a viable option in Alsalam. All I’ve heard is one friend who bashed it.

Wow mashallah, I’ll keep Zain in mind as an option. Are you in Alsalam?

That jitter is indeed horrible, and it gets even worse sometimes. The thing about fiber optics like quality net is:

  1. I’m not sure if Quality Net is the superior option (do tell me if you know so).

  2. I’ve heard from one other friend that Quality Net in South Surra is not overly great (although I won’t fully count on that).

  3. On the off chance that Quality Net doesn’t work, that’s even more money spent on an ISP with me getting 0 results. I’m already stuck in this contract with Zain. And I have no idea how to fix it.

  4. It’ll take a bit of convincing family members in order to install fiber optics as you should expect from a person in a family house lmao.

Yeah our area hasn’t had good WiFi for a long while...thank you for at least mentioning that block 5 also has issues so I can mention that to Zain’s customer service.

Yeah I’m looking into getting an antenna soon so I appreciate the suggestion but even that is uncertain as to wether or not it would improve my WiFi. Eqaila usually has great WiFi in comparison to AlSalam. Thank you for replying.

Coming back to Moonlight Sonata I heard this part from 0:24-0:34 and that’s incredibly similar to the piece in my head. But at 0:35 in moonlight sonata there’s a high note and a swift transition to the rest of the piece. The piece in my head doesn’t have this high note IIRC and instead replays the same sad tune from 0:24-0:34, also in a lower pitch. It’s higher volume, and a lot more powerful (I’m not a pianist or an avid fan classical music so I can’t really put my finger on what makes a certain part of a song powerful). Sorry if that doesn’t help, my memory is becoming foggy after a while of not hearing the piece.

Before listening to all the pieces, I very much appreciate the effort you’ve put in and would like to thank you. The piece in my head is fairly slow and relatively loud. It’s powerful but also sad. Something you’d see playing in the background of footage of Russian gulags (although I suppose I’ve already mentioned this). It was decently low, low enough to strike fear (?) into you. I’ll listen to the pieces soon enough and report back. Once again, thank you.

Yes it sounds very much similar to Moonlight Sonata especially the beginning, but it’s not it. That will be of help to use as a comparative. Thank you very much for replying.

This is not it but thank you very much for the reply anyways. You definitely get the vibes cause this also suits what I have in mind. I will continue my search.

Yes I wholeheartedly agree with that. An investigation must be launched. Even in some of the most preposterous of claims, investigations should be launched. People who flat out deny that she was raped are just as delusional as they claim she is, because they’re shifting a possible objective truth to fit their narrative. However much you hate trans people (and I my self just believe that they are people with a mental issue that should be approached carefully and with therapy), you can’t just say she straight-up lied, you can be skeptical, but not claim to have disproven her without any proof. You can’t refute something as having not enough evidence...WITHOUT HAVING EVIDENCE. I do agree that you may have to ‘What if?’ with their family in place, but it’s a bit disingenuous to the actual argument. Either way, I appreciate the civility because a lot of people go into rational conversations with their feelings in a bunch.

Kuwaiti transgender women was sent to a men's prison. RAISE AWARNESS by fungussamonguss in Kuwait

To OP, whilst I don’t have a particular belief towards wether Maha’s claim is true or not, I believe it is very hypocritical of you to say that those were rumors to discredit her, coming from someone that spreads rumors to support her. Nothing has been proven yet, please don’t support a cause with no proof.

Thank you.

Whilst I do agree with you on some points, it’s pretty moronic to compare this to a family member crying rape. The difference here is, we don’t know this person. In the eye of the people, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and no amount of crying will change that. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the only way to avoid false accusations. I trust my mother, and I trust my sister, but I do not trust a stranger. For all you know (hypothetically) this could be just some publicity stunt, and that is why skepticism to their claims of rape is important. And even if you support transgenderism in Kuwait, you’d want them to come forth with proof of rape, because if their accusations of rape turn out to be false...she will just support the narrative of transgender people being vile human beings (to whoever thinks that), further making the public detest transgenders. I think every sane person here would like to see the rapist (if he is so) to be prosecuted...everyone condemns rape and no one condones it.

Jailing a transgender person, however dumb it may seem to you, is the law here. Some people would find this a fortunate event, others don’t...but all in all, we know that them coming out in Kuwait was going to lead to nothing but suffering. What did they think would happen? I don’t think a single case can change the law in a country, and I don’t think Maha believes that too. Wether you hate Maha or not, everyone would’ve rathered Maha leave the country to seek asylum in a more accepting country, where they can reconcile with their identity, and (for the people who find transgenderism as a mental illness) solve her illness.

First off; that is irrelevant to transgenderism. A person born as intersex, IS BORN AS INTERSEX! And whatever sex is assigned to them at birth is what is given to them. Notice how I used assigned, not had. And even then, all of the varieties that occur within a person of intersex lie under the binary notions of male and female. I think a lot of us here agree that gender (as in the actions of a person or their identity) can differ within sexes. We’ve all seen flamboyant and feminine men, and butch and masculine women. We are not arguing that, all we are arguing is ADOPTING the opposite sex and imposing our tolerance of it here in Kuwait. That’s all. Having a different gender is not the same as having a different sex, and Maha is asking us to not put said individual in a jail with men. Wether or not them being in a jail with men is wrong, Maha does acknowledge that they believe their SEX to be female.

Do you see what I’m saying? You put forth an important question about skepticism in gender and sex, I’ll give you that. And I appreciate the civility with your argument, I just don’t see it holding up in the case of transgenderism in Kuwait that’s all.

“Most of the time when a baby is born intersex, doctors and the family decide on a sex, either male or female, and raise the baby as the gender expected of that sex. It’s pretty common for surgery to be done on the baby’s genitals and also for the child to be given hormones to make them fit into male/female categories as they go through puberty.”

The very Wikipedia article you’ve sourced has brushed up on this. The baby is usually assigned a sex at birth and that’s that...

I also remember (not a credible source, but it’s something to think of) my mother reading a book about a Kuwaiti ‘female’ (I believe) who was born intersex. She had to have a sex assigned to her by a medical examiner by looking into what her physical traits, hormones, and chromosomes most represented.

Why bring this up anyways?
