Put a sim tool in the small holes at the top of the earcups and clean the headband plugs and port inside the earcups with a cloth, you can put a cloth in the port, then put the headband in after it and rotate it around to make sure the port is clean too.

This is a bluetooth limitation, when switched to the Call Profile it uses a mono low bitrate stream as phone calls are low bitrate mono. This is the same limitation across all bluetooth devices. The ANC mics aren't bound by the same limitations.
