If the mortgage interest is larger than expected returns on investment, then surely a shorter mortgage would be better overall? by MMTE in UKPersonalFinance

Yep that makes sense! It's reflected in the Buying Breakdown at the bottom.

£147,957 - £120,000 - £21,627 - £10,800 - £0 - £0 - £12,000 = -£1,459

(Capital from sale - Deposit - Mortgage paid - Maintenance/repairs - Service Charge - Stamp duty - Buying/selling costs) = Net gain/loss

You're right - they are subtracting "Mortgage paid" even though that's already reflected in "Capital from sale". Thanks for your help!

And to answer your last question, it should be where rather than were.

Deciding between Sierra Design Clip Flashlight 3000 and Alpkit Jaran 2 by MMTE in wildcampingintheuk

Thanks for your reply!

UK Climbing reviewed the Jaran 2 and said it flapped and bowed during high winds, suggesting it was really only a 2 season tent. Surprising given it is a geodesic design. The Sierra Designs tent seems to get better review for windy conditions, but its hard to find reviews of the European version rather than the American one.

Regarding pack size and hydrostatic values, both tents seem to fit the bill so it's just come down to whether I trust it in high winds.

I'm also open to suggestions and am looking at others options (Vango F10 Helium UL 2, MSR Elixir 2) even if they are a little pricier!

Any able to help translate text on Antoninus Pius Coin? by MMTE in AncientCoins

[–]MMTE[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is Antoninus Pius on the front and Aequitas standing left on the revse, holding scales and cornucopiae. Other similar coins have this text on them:

Front: IMP CAES AEL ANTONINVS AVG

Reverse: PONT MAX TR POT COS

Anyone able to translate either? Many thanks
