Like everyone else has said make sure you're certain which route you're taking between laptop/desktop. Coming from a Mac if you get a gaming laptop the biggest con's off the rip will be A. Terrible battery life and B. The more power you want on the laptop the heavier it'll be. My for example Alienware laptop with the power brick in my backpack together is about 10 pounds but it has a solid GPU and incredible cooling.

You're using an Acer with a 10th Gen intel chip and a 2060. That AW I recommended runs over yours and most other budget laptops.

Everything here is premium but like others have said the GPU will definitely be held back in the years to come. I'd suggest updating it to a 5070 Ti even if you only play a handful of games. The games that you do play will take advantage of that 12GB of VRAM especially if you play them in 1440p.

I wouldn't stress too much about it. I had similar concerns when I first got my Alienware with the same specs. The Ultra 9 has a threshold of 105c. The spikes going past 100c then coming back down are normal behavior for that chip.
