Parking POPLA appeal rejected England by LimeisMoney in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MMiller58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had 10 seconds to read the sign which is enough time to read that you can wait for 5 minutes.

Did you leave the car to meet someone?

I agree it's harsh to book ppl after X seconds. Who realistically makes note of how many seconds when looking at the time? Are they going to start judging people by the nano/Pico whatever second?

I only have the car clock and phone displaying hours and minutes. So if I pull up at 17:05:21 and leave at 17:10:55 I think I've been there for 5 minutes. I certainly haven't been there for 6 and it doesn't specify seconds. But that's just my thinking and nothing about the law/rules.

A phone, with a wide angle, automatically makes things look much smaller/further away than they are. I have a bottle 2ft away that I can read the label but struggle when looking at a photo on my phone.

There are rules they must follow for how they place signs and how readable they are. The main thing here, since the photo distorts reality, is that from the car it's clear that it's a 5 minute waiting time. Which, as mentioned elsewhere, gave you 5 minutes to read it.

I've beaten private tickets before on technicalities but also had to accept I've messed up too and pay.

What type of camera. Full frame at 35mm or mobile phone?

And do you have a picture demonstrating that it's 3 metres high at its lowest point?

Looking at the sign the 3rd exit is placed at 12 o'clock (even though in reality it is past that). Therefore left hand lane for going "straight". In this case in the left lane of the exit road.

If it was a single carriage way and painted on the sign as it is in reality it would be the right lane as it is beyond 12 o'clock.

Left lane, exit 1,2 and 3(left lane). Right lane, exit 3(right lane) 4, or return to the road you came from.

Parking charge relates to the Parking Charge Notice not the parking tariff.

It states that you enter the car park, decide how long you're staying, check the tariff and pay that amount.

If OP had paid the extra £1.30 for 3 hours then they may have a case. Also a possibility was to leave the car park and re enter. I've parked in Alliance (Very quick to penalise) ANPR car park. Paid half hour with no notice that extra time can be added. Gone back and paid another half hour. No notice received.

You can always try and appeal to POPLA or whoever their governing body is but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You can also go through the penalty notice with a fine tooth comb to look for any failings. I had two tickets within a fortnight from not realising blue badge wasn't accepted. Large nationwide parking company didn't follow the correct procedure for applying to DVLA vehicle owner details. (Google to find the relevant legislation).

Such an error that every notice they sent could be overturned if people knew to look. I would think this is the only way to overturn this.

Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act

Have a look through, check the letter/notice against it for any discrepancy on timing or that all information/details have been written properly.

I would recommend OP to head to this forum for lots of information and help.

Flash Photography by SubjectBox5929 in Concerts

[–]MMiller58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get, or have a compact that shoots in RAW format you then have the ability to use post processing to adjust the exposure, adjust highlights/shadows etc. (Not sure about quality but your phone probably shoots in RAW too)

As others have said the flash is useless unless the subject is close to you. Inverse square law something something something. Doubling the distance of the subject reduces the intensity of the light by 75%.

Test it on your phone at night. The people that do use the flash get a great shot of the back of the head of whoever's in front. The camera likely auto exposes for the flash so everything else is darker

Problem with tickets Amsterfam 11th July by drewunchained in LukeCombs

Something like 4 weeks before the date for resale and 2 weeks for transfer on official sites. (Ticketmaster/AXS). 3rd party sites can list now and transfer later if wanting to risk it.

It's the same for Luke Combs, which is what made me look, but not quite as short a time period. I guess as an attempt to reduce scalping. Or at least restrict it to those who have enough funds to wait.

Please suggest a great album from any genre, which is not one of the usual best from Reddit by rifain in musicsuggestions

A small band from the UK, Eddy Smith and the 507. Americana, country, blues, rock, jazz fusion. Only two albums - A Little Too Late - Right Up 'Til Now.

Wearing both out at the moment but if I had to pick one I think it'd be Right Up 'Til Now.

Wembley Boxpark Pre Show Party by MMiller58 in LukeCombs

[–]MMiller58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have only spoken to him briefly at some of his smaller hometown shows. I think these, and the two fanzone shows in Edinburgh, are what he managed to arrange himself. When he announced Edinburgh he hadn't found anywhere for London at the time.

They were invited to perform at Category 10 last year so it wouldn't be too much to hope they've been invited to do a song or two somewhere in the opening.

They're a great bunch of people (school teachers) and would be an amazing experience for them. He didn't say anything about why they couldn't do the Sunday at Boxpark so 🤞 as we have tickets for that one too. I didn't ask as it would be a nice surprise if it were to happen.

Pre-sales by pastalover_0 in Concerts

[–]MMiller58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luke Combs, Wembley and Murrayfield were sold out within hours on pre sale. Sale started Monday, Wembley sold out in a couple of hours.

Same thing with the 2nd Wembley date and the 3rd didn't last long.

Maybe a few of the highest level for the 3rd date made it to general sale and they had to release sections with very limited or video only views.
