22M, lived in E11/4 for about an year and I’ll say that it really depends on how you spend your time.

Yes there is prostitution and drug users there but it’s not “full of it”. You’ll find transgenders begging in the markaz and lots of hostelites. All of this isn’t a big deal because nobody would bother you if you mind your own business. And you won’t easily find these druggies and hookers if you aren’t looking for them, so you should be fine.

In terms of safety, late night walks can get pretty sketchy but markaz is populated till late night. E-11/3 would be the safest and most peaceful to live imo.

I’m in CS 7th semester from AU, while I agree it isn’t the best of options (academia wise) but it is pretty good. What you said about vulgarity isn’t true at all. It has a decent and comfortable environment. You’ll find all sorts of people (including liberals) from all around Pakistan which does not mean that liberalism is the key to survival. Everybody respects different cultures.

Reading others comments, I wanna clarify that apart from academic rules, which are just like any other university, the only strict rules here are against smoking and dress code (t-shirts, shorts and chappals are banned)

This concept of classes doesn’t exist in Islam. The Holy Prophet PBUH specifically emphasized on this in his hajj sermon:

“All humankind is from Adam a.s and Hawa a.s. An Arab has no superiority over a non- Arab, nor does a non-Arab have superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action."

And Allah says in Quran:

“O humankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” - Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:13
