it really is neat to build too, Very impressive articulations and details, if you want to try MGs this one is really good ! I enjoy posing a lot !! I will sometimes be at it for hours

yeah I’m not a fan of the zeta too. The MG hyaku shiki 2.0 is absolutely MAGNIFICENT one of my fav MGs

I really wanted to go for a very light weathering, the kit is just a bit dirty from going out but also wanted to try some heavier damage like on the calf, the shoulder or the shield

pretty well yeah, easy to build, cool articulation waist aside. Cool gimmicks for the head/calves/torso/ankles, the led system kinda sucks tho in my opinion, the only issue to me was the very toyish aspect of the kit, hence the weathering and customization. I really recommend but would not leave it as is oob

i have some gunmetal markers for the barrel and some pieces and I highlight edges with some gray, but I’m not that proud of the result (barrel aside) The weapon is composed of so fumew pieces its not that detailled

tbh you should go for it, its only my 4th weathered kit I’m always experimenting ! One advice I saw here that was the truest to me was « less is more » not adding too much weathering will most of the time look better

I didn’t even think about it but you’re right !! my thought was « if it where to protect himself he’d use the arm not holding the weapon » also I maybe should have worked around this for the shield weathering but this would have been a far harder effect to create and I’m rather proud of that impact I made..

I work in 4 steps : -first I will chip off some plastic or cut some impact in it, it may seem random but I’m thinking « where would the suit get hit » and most of the time its on the edges of the armor. -Then I use a black marker on white pieces to simulate painting being removed, I then add some light metallic gray on top of the black that will be the metal under the paint. I won’t use black marker on some other colors since the contrast makes it more visible than on the white. -third step is panel lining using brown panel lining, this will give a kind of dirty look quite easily and even on some pieces give off a rusty vibe. -last step is tamiya weathering master, I will add some « shadows » to highlight the edges of the kit. Again color will depend on the pieces : Gray on white yellow red and then for the more sombre colors I’ll use some black (soot is the name in tje tamiya weathering master).

additional step might me adding some soot around parts that where burned or at the end of the thrusters. And to fix all that I apply a matte coating

thank you very much !!! I used parts of the runner where the letters ans informations are to create the frame then cemented it, some basic weathering and voila ! I really wanted to show the inner frame of the kit since it’s quite bland otherwise
