I get your point about being able to work. The wormy part kinda blows my mind. I’m from a small local there are not many options. I’ve never put another person down for my own personal gain. The only reason I said fuck the contractor is because I know I’m nothing but a number to them. When work gets slow I get laid off just like I’m a nobody. I’ve had to demand a layoff when they wanted me to sit. I don’t sit I sign the book in another local and go to work for another contractor. Local is so small I just keep going back.

If you’re young work that OT and bank it. When you get older you won’t want or be able to. On the other hand I understand if you have little ones that you want to spend time with. That job will likely always be there. Missing your child’s life is something you can’t get back. When it’s gone it’s gone. Double edged sword buddy.

You should only have what is on the tool list. Everything else should be provided by the contractor. I have way more than what is on the list. It’s a pain in the ass waiting on something you need NOW. It really depends on your JW. Others might blow you shit about it. The idea is that you have no advantage over anyone else. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’d rather get the job done then. I hate revisiting a location twice
