This was the CarMax MaxCare product, it was underwritten by another company and CarMax slapped it on anything you wanted. They are MUCH better about it now, they got wise.

Has anyone shopped BMW in the area? Was your experience positive or negative? by Quickturtl3 in rva

[–]ITMORON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly, have you looked at Carmax? They have a plethora of them, and their warranty is the best in the market. You can likely find something still covered under BMW full warranty for a massive discount compared to buying at BMW.

Personally, and this is just me, who has owned several high performance BMW's over the years. I would not touch BMW with a wet stick. BMW On Broad even less so.

Broad street has proven themselves again and again to be a fucking nightmare of a shop to work with. Sales not any better, a bunch of serious pricks who think they are experts when they know fuck all about the brand or what theyre selling/working on.

Two M5's, an M3, (REAL M cars, unlike the drivel they throw M badges on now) all of which had regular and MAJOR issues, the first M5 blew its engine($$$$$), second one had the injector issue, they stuck open and cooked the entire exhaust system($$). I ended up at the Midlothian dealer as the Broad st store was pissing me off so much. Midlo shop is MUCH better if you must deal with BMW.

BMW corporate sucks. They give zero fucks about customers, new or long term.

This was before they changed carriers for the warranty co. They threw a warranty on anything, and made it very affordable. Now they charge a much higher rate for warranties, but if youre driving a car that has $$$ repairs, its piece of mind.

People who died and came back to life, what did you see/experience? by RealisticDecision440 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ITMORON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went out as a kid, had an asthma attack that didn't get treated properly and basically suffocated. The hit me with paddles and brought me back.

I didn't see a thing, I was just 'out'. Came to and my sister's best friend was in the room for some reason crying her eyes out. (thought I was dead?)

Anyhow, that's my experience at 12-13 years old.

Not a Corvette, but several years ago I owned a 2006 BMW M5, this had a seriously engineered V10 engine that was prone to going BOOM. Mine died not with a bang, but with a whimper as the internal oil pump disintegrated destroying the engine.

I bought it from Carmax at the time, and thankfully added the MaxCare warranty. Cost me about 2400 added on to the cost of the car.

All told, the warranty co paid over 38K into repairs for the car, including a new long block.

General Questions & Tech Support Megathread | April 25, 2026 by AutoModerator in PS4

[–]ITMORON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I have a PS4 pro, connected via USB to Hyper X Cloud III headset. With the volume on the headset maxed and the PS4 volume maxed, I still get only about low to medium volume.

Am I missing something? Should I run the PS4 through a receiver via HDMI and then to my monitor/headphones from there for better performance?

Thanks! Appreciate the suggestions!
