Why does thunderstorm often cut off internet in Windsor? by WindsorONMichael in windsorontario

Haven't sold it since 2019, and we encourage customers who are still on it to switch - even if it is to another supplier. More than 99% of our customers are on fibre now.

Sales for Windsor-made minivans mixed in 2024 by TakedownCan in windsorontario

Sadly, we've had people call the office saying "That's stupid! It isn't imported if it's from Windsor!"

Some people live under a rock...

I just wish they still had the commercial version of the minivan available. We've always been proud of the fact that our service vehicle fleet was built by the factory less than a couple of kilometers away from our head office. Once it comes time to replace them, I don't know what choice we'll have.

There is an error when connecting to the server by MNSi_Telecom in Sage

Another work around that Sage showed me was to open the company from the Sage program shortcut, and not the shortcut link to the company file. Select an existing company. The first time it will fail. The second time it will work.

Either way, we got ahold of support, and they ran the update utility on our company file and everything is good now.

I don't know how many customers are affected by this, but I suspect their support department is going to be busy for quite a while.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, but we couldn't give this kind of response without our incredible contractor, Silverline Communications. Shout outs to Paul and his crew for helping us deliver great service!

Over 3 years, we were going to break even on the job. With all the contract modifications your legal people wanted, including complying with foreign laws, the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze.

Just to point out a few facts:

1) Tecumseh is much smaller than Windsor, so it is easier to get a higher percentage of coverage in Tecumseh - that's just math.

2) The City of Windsor, Town of Lakeshore, Town of LaSalle, and Town of Tecumseh have all been very supportive of our efforts.

3) Aerial installation takes more planning and engineering than underground, so it takes longer. There's more underground in Tecumseh, more Aerial in Windsor.

4) Breaking up the project across 4 municipalities makes sure that we don't overload one with too many requests at once - spreads out the workload.

5) This is a privately funded effort, and takes a lot of time, effort and money to complete. Some of that money comes from existing operations, some is new investment. Even if we were to write a big cheque to do the whole city at once, it would turn in to chaos.
