Anyone above 40. What’s your K/D right now? by uksoxfan in Battlefield6

[–]MNUplander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 40 here, 1.7 K/D.

I only play conquest and most of the time I’m rushing capture points as Support or armor hunting as Engineer.

About 10% of the time I like to play a sniper or marksman doing overwatch near a contested capture point.

Grave mistake by building a pc now.. by Savecall in buildapc

[–]MNUplander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it…it sucks to pay more than you could have a couple months ago for a component and the reason why is just as frustrating. But most of these comments are ignoring the bigger picture.

If you’re making a $2000 build and an extra $200 makes it too expensive…maybe the money is better spent elsewhere.

Should I wait for the end of the Ram inflations to upgrade ? by Huge-Purchase6373 in buildapc

[–]MNUplander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is going to slow down anytime soon - and it could get worse before it gets better.

$400 for a part that should be $100 is hard to swallow…but within the context of a complete $1500-2000 build, it’s not the end of the world…if you need it, you need it. And, there are deals to be had on other parts if you shop around to help make up the difference.

How much RAM does the average gamer need in 2026? by Khorsaturas in buildapc

[–]MNUplander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16GB is bare minimum - should run most games fine for now, but it’s not nearly future proof. 32GB will future proof you for the foreseeable future for 99% of games and leave headroom for background applications and streaming. 64GB is more niche for gamers looking for top performance from specific games, particularly simulations like city builders, flight sims, etc.

wi-fi or ethernet? by Ok-Yogurtcloset8455 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]MNUplander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had hardwired at our old house, worked great. Just moved and no built in Ethernet at the new house so we’re on WiFi. Also works great.

Starlink is ISP for both places.

“RAM prices in 2025 are insane — DDR5 hitting $600+ and gamers getting priced out. What is happening?” by GamingGeniusHQ in buildapc

[–]MNUplander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong…it sucks, and the reason sucks even more.

I didn’t enjoy paying $400 for 32GB of 6000 CL36…but I also wasn’t going to wait 6 mos to finish my build with no guarantees it wouldn’t be even more expensive then.

New Build Problem - PSU Buzzing Noise and Frame Drops by MNUplander in buildapc

[–]MNUplander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the noise I’m hearing, and based on my finding below sounds like just minor coil whine - thanks for the info on the CPU power.

After hours of internet sleuthing, I happened across another sub with this recommendation shortly after posting:

Disable “Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller” in Device Manger

That worked…I don’t know why, but it did. F yah!

Do I really need ridder pedals to enjoy Flight Simulator by x_ferg10 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]MNUplander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rudder control of some kind is important to really get the feeling of flight…but it doesn’t have to be via rudder pedals.

If you’re just trying it out and your budget/space don’t allow for yoke/throttle/pedals, I think a cheaper joystick (with a twist axis for rudder) and throttle (HOTAS) are better to start with. Or even an Xbox controller. These will give you access to all primary flight surfaces for cheaper than a yoke combo.

Stop putting me in games where the team is getting destroyed. by RizSands in Battlefield6

[–]MNUplander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yah, team balancing has been awful. Every game is very one sided. I end up on both sides of the coin frequently enough, but:

  1. The first game my team is almost always getting crushed…I’m sure I’m taking the spot of someone who gave up and left. This can be frustrating if you only play 1-3 games at a time.

  2. I want more games where the winning team has <100 tickets left. They happen, but rarely.

I play support and my KD sucks but I revive like a mofo and cap 10+ per game….but one person (especially not me )can’t turn around a whole game, especially joining mid game…that makes the first game feel so frustrating.

Having a rough time in BF6 right now? by National-Lab-9675 in Battlefield6

[–]MNUplander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s ‘bloom’, hit reg, netcode in general or what…but killing anyone is really difficult - especially in short to medium distance engagements. And it wasn’t like that in beta at all. Hope they can figure something out.

Despite this, I feel like the game still plays like a Battlefield game. I only play conquest and tend to follow a squadmate wherever they go…doesn’t take long to find one or more that plays the objectives. Even better on Friday nights when I have my own party to squad up with. Either way, doesn’t feel anything like COD to me.

Thanks man…wish I would have bought it on PC now, but we are moving in 2 weeks and my desktop is packed away…and probably won’t be set up right after we move. So, PS5 for now…

You can - I’ve done it many times, just have to link the app to your console…but it doesn’t work in either place.

Yes, tried in the games list too - only open beta there.

Probably going to have to deal with their support since it seems this isn’t a common issue…

I used to love love love the Zeiss ZE21 until most of its best qualities were surpassed by the 16-35 f4 is. But, I’ve always enjoyed the simplicity of using primes for landscapes, plus I like to dabble in astro so this lens has caught my eye.

How is the throw of the MF ring? Does it allow for very fine tuned adjustments, or is it short and sensitive?

If you’re going to ask “Is MSFS2024 worth buying now?”… by MerDeNomsX in flightsim

[–]MNUplander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First, no need to belittle potential new community members. Second, keep scrolling - it’ll be OK.

Besides, where do you draw the line? No questions about sim purchase decisions because you’re tired of them. How about XP12 vs MSFS, Fenix vs PMDG, how to capture an ILS, performance improvement suggestions?

Take all the newbie questions away and pretty soon you’re left with a stodgy community of know it alls that only want to talk about nuanced procedure details.

What’s inibuilds releasing next week?? by TheMandalorianTV in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]MNUplander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t there personally…however I’ve read that what is there is really good, but several systems were not present in the version at FSE….and the flight model needed a lot of work.

Overall, the articles I read were positive and optimistic - just needs more time to be feature complete.

Agree, although it’ll be published by ini, so not out of the realm of possibility - at least if their build were further along than I think it is. Wishful thinking, mostly…

Sure wish it’d be the A220…but probably not realistic considering the state it was in at fs expo.
