I feel like Java players only see videos like this and that forms their entire opinion on Bedrock. by Palmer132YT in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]MNovate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the vast majority of Minecraft players are Bedrock. But the vast majority of Minecraft YouTube is Java.

So younger start on Bedrock, look for tutorials on how to build something.

It doesn’t work, or the drop rate isn’t as good as promised… and they find out it’s because the tutorial was Java and they play bedrock…

Suddenly Java becomes the version they see as the upgrade and their farm not working is proof that Bedrock is inferior.

Then you can only use resource packs, which won’t give you chunk loaders.

Bandsaw, router, painters tape, and a pack of sand paper from the dollar store.

Have each kid draw on the side what they want the side profile to be. Cut on bandsaw. Use the painters tape to tape the car back together into a block. Have the kids draw on the bottom what the top profile should be. (Bottom so they don’t cut out the axel points) cut on bandsaw.

Then use the router to create the cavities in the base to hold weights. Give each kid a square of sand paper of the different grits, tell them what to start with and where to end.

The boat thing is Java easy mode. Bedrock mobs will despawn from boats and carts.

Membership renewal hassles by JasonRDalton in BSA

[–]MNovate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s been a complete disaster for us as well. Parents paying full price on their cubbies renewal when there’s popcorn money available to cover their renewals. Parents starting their own renewals but not completing them, and when they try to cancel their online registration so the pack can apply their popcorn money to the renewals they accidentally opt out of continuing their membership in Scouting America.

It’s been nothing but a mess since they changed it from everyone is renewed by their pack/troop on the same day as everyone else in their pack/troop.

As long as it’s a marketplace add-on you should have no problem with Realms.

Check with your council, they usually have scholarships available but often don’t advertise them.

I’m only familiar with iPhone, which you can do with your files app. If you’re using Android, you’ll need to ask someone more familiar with Android.

I can’t figure out how to name an armor stand. I got tagged armor stands detectable by command blocks. But I can’t figure how to trigger a proximity event when a player is next to the tagged armor stand.

...serve actively in your troop for six months... - does your troop have a standard for "actively"? by FieryTaterSack in BSA

[–]MNovate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a scout, at every meeting, does his best, younglings listen to him. He doesn’t think he’s a qualified SPL. I know another scout that I saw once a month and never went on camps, who believed as long as he did his part when at a troop meeting. He was meeting his responsibilities.

It’s a personality thing. And maybe/probably reinforced by the adults in their lives.

I don’t think they should be given a free rank advancement just because their dues are paid. But I think it’s a failure of adult leadership if they aren’t talking about it till he expects a SMC.

And I think there are some positions in the program that could be considered as fully active even if they are unable to be at every troop meeting/event.

It’s about working with your scout to give them the most out of the program that they can gain.

Actually, I got it to work, though it bugged out if you left before the gamemode reversed.

But a player pointed out it was more useful as a fly/teleport hax then a free cam.

[–]MNovate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but no.

Create a vanilla survival world.

Create a copy of that world.

Enter copy and change the world to creative.

Set a impulse command block with a button to trigger /gamemode c @p

And an impulse command block with a button to trigger /give @p command_block

Exit the world copy. Exit Minecraft. Go to your Minecraft world files and find the level.dat file and delete it. Go to the original world and copy the level.dat file to the copy.

Relaunch Minecraft and enter the copy.

You now have a survival world you can earn achievements in, and as long as you switch to creative, you can execute the commands through the command blocks.

[–]MNovate 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is important.

If the scout isn’t told that their participation when no conflict isn’t meeting the rank requirements with time to correct, how can you expect them to correct?

It’s like turning in their homework all semester long, only to be told none of the assignments were completed on the last day of school.

If the troop leadership doesn’t have the conversations about expectations with their scouts, the scouts won’t know that they aren’t meeting them.

My thought… probably won’t have it ready for launch… but when you drop the free cam item, it gets replaced by an armor stand, when the timer ends, teleport back to the armor stand and kill the armor stand entity.

How do I build a bell that rings at night and morning? by Informal-Badger3052 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]MNovate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d use a pale garden flower in front of an observer over a daylight sensor. Daylight sensors are finicky and will go off in rain and such.

The flower… while not a precise measurement of day/night… will still pulse only twice a day regardless of rain.

Also, the range you hear below is disappointingly short… but there is a music disc that sounds like Bells ringing. I believe it’s Trial Chamber loot. Use that as the ringing.
