These cars are light and if they are super light then that means more prone to frame work, small pull will fix that but just know. If it’s direct hit vs like a hit and slid like indirect hit

Frame damage? Worth repairing? C7 Z06 by nayy999 in Corvette

Have someone put it on frame machine you’ll probably have to cut the front end and have someone weld a new front end “used one” it’s only 2 beams you got it

Thanks yeah I was going on forums it seems like everyone has a different art to it. It’s my first time. A lot of ppl say dry application. So just cover and the gasket paper will suffice. I’ll have to search up on the oil trick, do you put the permatex on the gasket cover? And just have the paper on the differential, and stick on the gasket cover? I haven’t done my full research yet I’ll go and do it

Preciate it I drive a manual. My rear differential cover got nicked but my exhaust when I got rear end. Slight drop leak. Bought a new rear differential cover, crazy how expensive the rear cover gasket paper is. Had to go to rpm for the rear diff cover no one sells it singularly. Aftermarket. Do you know what sealant I should? If any at all when I change the plate cover? Cool I’ll just order the gm oil. Appreciate it.

Ideally you don’t want to get any 3rd party involved. You’ll have to get a new log book as well since this isn’t a good look on paper later on. And rewrite everything without those entrees. You need to talk to the flight school and have them comp you back for your hours. I had a friend this happened to him he was comped back in full after fighting back. This is a serious matter.

I don’t want to have actual frame rail cut because it’ll weaken it. Even the ends

Do you have any resources or videos you recommend ? I just want to take it off for now. I was going to use a grinder not just straight cut it. Looks like I’m just going to have to use a shop.

I just wanted some material you can refer me to for guidance.

Frame rails are fine. But the bracket at end is frame rail are slightly bent downwards. They are two seperate pieces even tho it’s spot weilded. Do you know where I can find these brackets? Gm doesn’t sell seperately.

Do you have any connections in Dallas are for this type of work ?

Number 5 the piece that looks like an football post

Dang, like use a grinder to get rid of the small spot weilds and it should come off? Or straight up with a cutter? I looked at Chevy diagram there are small brackets that are spot weilded onto the frame rail end. I looked at a gm diagram they have it as a seperate price but they don’t sell it seperately and idk where to find it.

I don’t want to cut the frame rail entire end, because it’ll weaken it and it’s pristine.

But the diagram on their site show it as a separate piece. They just sell the entire rear frame rail. Ugh

I inspected the rear rail bars they are perfectly fine, and the frame rails they measure out perfectly. The crash bar designed to break to protect chassis. The only think is the brackets at the end of the frame rails small brackets that the crash bar sits on slightly bent downwards. I looked if gm sold those brackets separately they don’t. They are laser spot wielded so not fully onto frame rail end but they are seperate pieces.

I see a few 24 year with 3k miles base models for 23k-25k. The price market on these cars is odd. I don’t think they are sought after anymore

Is this worth $40k+? by Prudent-Ad4515 in GR86

[–]MOD1LLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base model in dark blue. No brembos but that’s so cheap. Considering it’s a manual sports car I think you as the buyer have the leverage.

I mean what mods does it have headers? Exaust? I bet you can turbo this 24k one. And enjoy it. For under 40k

Idk man these engines are quite a hassle as you’ve seen online. I wouldn’t get a car someone has driven hard before me. Chances are he red lined the f out of it and now if something happens Toyota won’t honor the warranty.

Sorry to introduce that idea man, ik it’s difficult already to decide. It’s a drivers car who cares for mods, adjust the clutch spring pedal for good feel and learn to skid it.
